Anybody’s child have this hair colour?

So my 14 month old has this strange kind of pinky coloured hair. It’s not brown, it’s not red, it’s just quite pink looking. At toddler classes he doesn’t look like the blondes, brunettes or gingers. I can’t describe it to people because I don’t know what colour it is! Anybody else’s baby have this colour and what did it turn out? He has dark brown eyes, really dark eyelashes and mid brown brows but they’re quite sparse still.

And hopefully good with babies!

She doesn't do nappies Hmm but she does spend her own money on buying her little sister treats every time she goes shopping with her friends and gives her lots of cuddles/plays silly games!

nixon1976 · 15/07/2025 14:25

Mine's was exactly like that. Then was thick-ish and blonde for a year or two, by 4 he was fully light-mid brown

TBH, baby hair colour doesn't always equal adult hair colour.
My sister was white blonde until she was about 2, then went very dark brown.
My son was warm blond and then went medium brown.
I've been brown all my life.
If it does stay strawberry blond(e) then it will be particularly lovely when the light shines on it.

That’s so interesting. Genetics are wild!

Thanks for your input. My hairdresser referred to it as rose gold 😂

So you were told by a hairdresser thr colour of your child’s hair…. I’m not understanding why you posted this at all? Seriously, why do this when you’ve been told??

spiderlight · 15/07/2025 14:39

Agreed - strawberry blond. Beautiful! My son started out with hair this colour, went a really, gloriously shiny ginger until he was about 12, then a bit darker and less red for a few years, and now at 18 he's strawberry blond again (his nickname in one friendship group is Strawbs). I'll try to attach a screenshot of his hair. My hair started out the same but has ended up with more blonde and less red.

Don’t blame her on the nappies front! It sounds like you have a lovely family. Good luck with the new arrival x

Because as far as I’m aware, rose gold isn’t a hair colour! Or if it is then what shade is it?! It’s just a light hearted post, no need for you to give it any time if you don’t wish to.

Yes my DD does! She gets lots of compliments and now at almost 11, it’s becoming auburn-ish and is much darker. It’s a very rare hair colour

ButteredRadish · 15/07/2025 15:09

@MuffinmamWhat on earth are you so angry for? You’re attacking OP for literally no reason!

ButteredRadish · 15/07/2025 15:13

Sounds lovely! And yes it is rare. Hope my boy’s is similar so that I can always pick him out in a crowd!

Don't worry about it growing, my dds hair was exactly like that, strawberry blonde and sparse, here's a recent pic at the hair dressers.

Beautiful hair!!!

This is a huge advantage of having a ginger kid, I have to say 😂 My son's grandparents loved having him to stay when he was little - they used to take all the grandkids out for the day and they never had to worry about where they were in the playground when they had a bright ginger beacon to look out for (who was always the loudest kid in the park as well).

Cheeseplantandcrackers · 15/07/2025 15:25

Those gorgeous cheeks!

All of mine had similar colour hair when tiny. One is now white blonde, two are ‘dirty’ blonde and one is dark brown.

Endofyear · 15/07/2025 15:34

I think it's strawberry blonde - he's absolutely gorgeous ☺️ might darken to auburn when he's older! My middle baby was born with really strange coloured hair - sort of yellow/light toffee coloured - not blonde but not brown either. He ended up a blondie!

Thank you! Baby hair is wild isnt it, so many colours that you just don’t see in (natural) adult hair

They really kept you guessing! I suppose he could go lighter or darker. It’s a waiting game!

Rose gold isn't an actual hair colour AFAIK. Strawberry Blond(e) is.
