Thought it would be a good idea if we had a support thread for us lovely people starting potty training to share tips etc

I'm on Day 3 of potty training DD2 (2.4yo) so far it's been completely horrendous nothing in the potty so far.

She pees on the floor (sorry am Scottish so a wee is small, pee is wee IYSWIM) and I'll say "DD2 where should that pee pee be" "in the potty Mummy not on the floor" she sits on her potty fine but pee going in potty is not happening for us yet.

well today DS did fantasticly! we were out int he morngin so it was pullups, but he went to the toilet at the playgroup when I prompte dhim half way through (pull ups were wet but i wasn't expecting him to break off exciting play for the loo!)

This afternoon we stayed in and I kep him in pants, we got through 6 pairs but EVERY time he told me before or during that he needed a wee wee. The first few times he started to go and then told me, but by the end of the day he was telling me before anything appeared and then doing a full wee in the potty.

He even called out after I put him to be saying he needed a wee. I went up and explained he had a nappy on and it was OK but he insisted on getting out of his cot to do wee wee in the potty - he held on for a good five minutes or more that time!

I am so proud of my boy! now I've just got to explain to him that nappies are for nighttimes and its OK to go wee in them.
