Hey all so i wanna ask something that someone may be able to answer so I took my children to school today I have 3 in mainstream and 1 in a special school so grandma on dads side takes the 3 to mainstream and I take my special needs daughter to her school as they start near the same time so I can't take them all in so the mainstream headteacher stopped me and said oh hi we don't see you much now are you ok I reply yes I'm ok she then goes on to say are you working now I said no she says why don't we see you bringing and taking the kids home I said because my daughter in the special school starts at 8:40am and my others start at 8:50am I can't be in 2 places at once it's like she don't like gran taking them in or picking them up what should I do ?

My daughter is only a few months into school and already coming to realise that they seem completely oblivious to the fact that there might be reasons why a parent won't be a drop off and pick up every day! The amount of times "just catch the teacher at pick up" has been used when I have made enquiries.
I wouldn't take it as a criticism but maybe as maybe the headteacher hasn't thought through the logistics of having to get kids to two different schools!

Even tho she's the one who asked me before she said that a special school would be better for my daughter and how I would manage drop off and pick up i even mentioned gran in that meeting it's like she didn't listen to me and just went off her own head

My dairy and egg allergic child came home recently with a biscuit made of dairy and egg with a note saying you need to check if it's safe. My 4 yo knew it wasn't safe but apparently the teachers couldn't link the ingredients and it being unsuitable!
Critical thinking skills aren't a given! Even knowing you have to be in two places at once is different to making the link that if you are always in place B you can't also be in place A.

Did that make you feel better?
