Please need some advice, dropped my phone on babies head. She hit it out off my hand she instantly screamed however calmed down with a bottle, she took bottle & went to sleep. Little red mark above her eyebrow but she’s okay other than that. Should I take her to get looked over? Mum guilt is absolutely killing me

She will be absolutely fine! Don't worry, we've all done it.

WhatASadLittleLifeJayne · 27/10/2024 19:03

Nope, she’ll be fine.

i did this, felt horrendously guilty, dc1 screamed then settled quickly, when they were asleep i lay down on my bed and decided the best thing to do would ne to drop my phone on my own face just to see how much it hurt 😂 looking back it was one of my less sane pfb moments 🙈 she will be fine op

Berga · 27/10/2024 19:12

She will be fine! I dropped a full Muller yoghurt all over my newborn whilst she was sleeping. She is currently cooking carbonara in the kitchen before she goes to work, doesn't seem to have done any lasting damage.

BaronessBomburst · 27/10/2024 19:18

I dropped a (cold) potato on mine. He's fine. The tumeric stain was a bugger to get out though.

catsnore · 27/10/2024 19:19

Yep done that, kids absolutely fine, no lasting damage apart from my mental state 😂

Sorry @Rockandgrohl but this actually made me laugh out loud 🤣

purplebeansprouts · 27/10/2024 19:21

Baby will be fine but please use it as a warning to never drink a hot drink when holding baby.

verabarbleen · 27/10/2024 19:38

I had super noodles
From my newborn son's head 😂 as I was feeding him and trying to eat! He is also fine 5 years old and likes noodles! Don't worry

This is amazing 😂

don’t worry OP, I’ve dropped my phone on both of mine and no harm done, although as PO said I did use it as a warning to avoid hot drinks when holding them etc x

Hagpie · 27/10/2024 19:40

I’ve done that and I promise you she’s fine. They’re sturdier than they look! 🤭

daniin · 27/10/2024 20:21

This thread remind me of when DC was a baby. I read he'd need two more layers than me as a guide to keeping him warm

One day, it was so cold we both had equal layers on. I removed two of mine so it would be right again Blush

ScaryGrotbag · 27/10/2024 20:23

I've done it loads. In fact they are both teenagers now and I did it to one of them quite recently!

DecafDodger · 27/10/2024 20:25

there's an old PFB thread where not only did the poster drop the phone on her face, she and her husband took turns to do it.

Your baby will be fine. You will probably also at some point bang their head on car door, and they will quite likely roll off the sofa.

showmethegin · 27/10/2024 20:27

I remember DH cutting DS finger a tiny amount while cutting his nails, he was about a month old. It was awful, my husband cried I cried DS cried. DS is now a happy, content 2 and a half year old toddler! Your baby will be absolutely fine, they are so sturdy!

MadisonAvenue · 27/10/2024 20:30

Baby will be fine.
I remember going to a GP appointment with my two week old first born. My name was called and my bag slipped off my shoulder and clonked him on the head when I stood up to pick up his car seat. I was mortified, especially as the woman sitting opposite laughed out loud.
Nearly 28 years ago and I’ve never forgotten it, didn’t do him any harm though. He’s now teaching in a secondary school.

weegiemum · 27/10/2024 20:31

My dd2 fell 6' into a river while I watched! I kept thinking "she'll stop" until she didn't!! She was about a year old!

Had a scabby nose for a while but I swear I suffered more than she did. It took some visitors we had coming home who pointed out "weegie, you're soaking wet!" Until I changed my clothes after jumping in after her. 2 hours previously!

She's a senior spa therapist in a 4 star hotel spa at 21 and is going to interview for a manager post this week. Graduated top of her class! She's still as adventurous as ever!

Cheepcheepcheep · 27/10/2024 20:33

Baby will be fine - I’ve done this with both.

I had two exclusively contact nappers for the first 6 months. I remember DH coming home and I told him about this terrible cradle cap DC2 had.

DH pointed out that it was actually crumbs from the croissant I’d eaten a couple of hours earlier and he hadn’t left the sling since 😳

I am sorry but that is the best thing I have read today 😂

In the meantime OP, your baby will be fine, absolutely no need to get her checked out.

DifficultBloodyWoman · 27/10/2024 20:49

i did this too. I think 90% of parents have since mobiles became standard.

I cried more than DC did.

YourFunMember · 27/10/2024 20:51

Done it to my eldest. Worst feeling ever.
