I'm half way though one essay, got another to do on the weekend (great fun again!). Going to start about 8ish tonight.

Anyone joining me for word counting!

Hey Chocolate
I am working tonight too.
Iam 1400 words into a 3000 word essay.
It is deadly boring. I have had sooo long to do this, and I write about 50 words each time I sit with it.

Iam thinking...maybe alcohol is the answer???
Nothing is flowing.
Or maybe that will just totally crumple my resolve, and I'll go off to bed...

purpleduck · 12/04/2008 23:18

ok, if anyone is still there..i have just poured a vanilla vodka and coke, and am waiting for the creative juices to start flowin...

jofeb04 · 12/04/2008 23:19

I came onto the computer at nine, with all good intentions. Haven't done anything (have had a few drinks though)

:O

When I was at uni the parts of my essays that were alcohol fuelled were always the best. If that helps at all.

purpleduck · 12/04/2008 23:24

I guess even if its not good, I probably won't care...

ChocolateRockingHorse · 12/04/2008 23:40

Ooh Hello

Yes, some of my best essays last year were written when partially enebriated, but there is a line you cross, I find, when the alcohol becomes wholly unconstructive.. and staying aware of that line can be a little obscure I find!!

I daren't drink tonight.. I'm all dosed up and will be dribbling into the keyboard at point blank range in no time if I so much as go there

Ok, so have written an introduction.. think it may be a little long for a 2000 word essay, but it gives me a nice plan of where I'm going (other than bed.. no no... don't think about that word....!!)

So glad of the company! Think I may need it.. DH is currently keeping me company by watching golf and having a hearty conversation with himself.. or the tv.. one of the two.. but he's yawning every 30 seconds..

Will see if he will make me another coffee before he goes up.. anyone else want one?.. or are you ALL on the sauce??!

purpleduck · 12/04/2008 23:45

Dh is playing wii online with a workmate.

The alcohol is making him look very fetching...

ChocolateRockingHorse · 12/04/2008 23:46

What are your essay questions?

Mine is... "How has young people's wellbeing been represented in the media and policy discourse and what might an alternative, critical approach look like?"

fucker!

ChocolateRockingHorse · 12/04/2008 23:49

(Ha! My DH is planning to BUY a Wii, apparently, seeing as we won a grand on a crossword today Or found out today anyway!) I have more sensible plans for it, involving carpets for our new house-to-be!)

And talking of Wiis, I am going to write about them now in my essay (feck orf and do it then CRH!!) by favourable comparing them ot PS3s as a "healthier alternative" because you have to physically MOVE!

Ok.. I'm gone again..

purpleduck · 12/04/2008 23:55

Crikey!!

Mine is a page long (our assignment criteria)
It is based on a groupwork session that we each had to do earlier in the year.
We have to:
Document the session (there is a bunch of stuff in this)

Evaluate the session

Critically analyze the session

Show how the session fits into underlying theories of learning and guidance in groups

Show how the session fits into Careers Eduacation Program.

My instructor is very big on theory, we need to pull in loads of other stuff.

Boring!!!

ChocolateRockingHorse · 13/04/2008 00:05

Scary more like PD! I'll stick to mine.. it seems more approachable now somehow, thanks

purpleduck · 13/04/2008 00:07

LOL at my assignment being some sort of cautinary tale.."be happy with yours, LOOK what you could have"

Happy to be of service ma'am

ChocolateRockingHorse · 13/04/2008 01:33

Still at it.. over half way I think.. anyone else still here?

BBBee · 13/04/2008 01:55

purpleduck · 13/04/2008 02:06

I have a 3000 word one, and I am nearly at 2000.

It is utter crap though.

What is yours on?

ChocolateRockingHorse · 13/04/2008 02:13

BBBee · 13/04/2008 02:15

shall we get off MN for half an hour and report back word count - like a competition!

purpleduck · 13/04/2008 02:18

hmm, i'm not a competitor, more of a supporter, but I will Work Very Hard, and see where we are at.

I am depressed to think that I have probably written 3,000 words just on mn tonight!!

Good luck- check in in 25 ish minutes

BBBee · 13/04/2008 02:19

okay I am going to see what I do in half an hour.

start point = 2,500

BBBee · 13/04/2008 02:20

(not really a competitor either, but the idea that I will have to come back and tell you will spur me on!)

okay - am gone....

BBBee · 13/04/2008 02:52

2,825 - not greast but did a lot of cutting stuff out. I thought it was further on than this - can;t decide whether to stop and get some rest or make more coffee and plough on...

purpleduck · 13/04/2008 02:56

Well done you!!
I only did 200 words, but I did do lots of end note thingys (which aren't included in wordcount)
and some reshuffling.

I am going to bed, my brain feels like oatmeal, and I have a driving lesson tomorrow.

Note to self: do not fall asleep whilst driving...

Good night and good luck
Thanks for keeping me company
