Primary school start time?

What time does your primary school start? Just curious as ours seems earlier than others so wondered what time others start?

Infants - doors open 8.45, doors close 8.55
Juniors - doors open 8.40, doors close 8.45

What do you do if you’re late? Throw your child over the fence and hope for the best?

Doors open from 8.30. Children come into class and do morning work.

Children need to be in by 8.55 (official start of school day).

Gates open at 0800, classes at 0830, secondary and primary .

8.50 -3.20 for our primary
8.30 -3 for our comp

8.20am drop off
8.30am school

8.55am but there's a free breakfast club from 8.15am, or a paid breakfast club from 7.30am.

9.05 - primary

No gates so they can get there whenever and play outside. Mine get the bus which gets them there about 845

0.50 for high school

8am is when the gates open, everyone has to be in by 8.10am at the latest. Ridiculously early, but then again they finish earlier- which is nice especially in the summer months with the evenings staying lighter as it means we can get out and do things before dinner time.

8:30-8:50 gate and classrooms open at 8:30 all children need to be in and doors close at 8:50. Having a window like this is great. Finish at 3:15 on Fridays the classroom is open from 3 for parents to go in and see what the children have been working on that week. It's a 4 form intake in a large seaside town.

At my school (I'm a teacher) we start at 8.30 😦 Doors open from 8.25 for a 'soft start' 🤷‍♀️

We used to start at 8.50 but this changed in September (many tears were shed 🤣) We don't get paid any more, and we still finish at 3.25! We also changed from 55 minutes lunch break to 45 minutes...the days feel very long now!

It's added an extra 35 minutes onto our day (with the 'soft start' opening)...which is 5 minutes shy of 3 hours a week. That's a lot of extra work 😮

P1/2 finish at 2.40pm
P3-7 finish 3.10pm

Gates open 8.35am, close 8.45am. Day finishes at 3.15pm.

Gates open at 8.30, close at 8.45. Kids in playground until 8.45 unless it's chucking it down.

Ours is drop off between 08:30-08.50

8:55. 9:00 for reception. I think gates open at 8:45 but you have to stay until your child walks into the classroom at 8:55. It’s quite an open site.
Pick up 3:30 or 3:25 for reception.
All 4 primaries in our town have slightly different times to slow the school bus to drop at all of them.

School I teach at 9am. DS's school from 8:45-9am.

We are in continental Europe, where everything gets going early!

Doors open at 7.55, they are supposed to be in by 8.15, after 8.20 they are marked as late. Some days they have to go in at 7.30.

1st - 3rd grade finish classes at 12, older ones different each day, some time between 12 and 2.30.
