Hello
My daughter is 20 months old and I am wondering when do you put them into a cot bed with a duvet and pillow?

DC wasn’t an escapee, so in cot until
3 ish, then toddler bed until 6 because he was very tiny and it still fitted him. He was very prem and the littlest at school until Yr7, there followed slow and steady catching up - now 6ft sixth former.

Mine went in a single bed at 20 months. He could climb out so now he's got single bed with extra high bed rail. Just waiting to see when he figures out how to get over that rail🫣🤣

Sorry that's meant to be 10 months🙄

By the age of 2 mine were all in a single bed with a flat pillow and duvet.

2 escapees here.
I used sleeping bags with mine until they started to pull themselves up the cot bars trying to get out, at that point we switched to a cot pillow and duvet because I thought that was less dangerous than their legs getting tangled in a sleeping bag. The cotbed sides came off to convert to a toddler bed once they managed to get out, which both of mine managed just before 2nd birthdays. They were then upgraded from a toddler bed to a full sized single divan at about 3.5.
We also used stair gates across bedroom doorways until they both figured out how to open the gates.

For as long as humanly possible! Seriously, why would you let a toddler lose at night any earlier than absolutely necessary?!? My DD is 2.5 and I have zero intention of moving her out before she actively climbs out (thankfully she has never once shown any interest in doing so). She's also still in sleeping bags, which I think has helped stop any climbing attempts. Obviously if they have climbed out, then that changes things, but before then, why rush it?

2y10.5m, about 6weeks before baby sibling outgrew the Next2me and we needed the cot for them.

Eldest wasn't a climber so had no need to change anything before then! They got their first pillow and duvet at the same time, too.

I've read several times if you can keep them in a cot until 3 the transition to a bed is a lot easier. Very much in the 'if it ain't broke don't fix it' camp here too. Will be keeping her in her cot unless she tries to climb out or outgrows it!

When he started climbing out 😂

I also used a very low bed from 14 months and my god he slept better! He hates the bars!
