18mo doesn’t ‘dance’

So this seems weird! He’s very active walks climbs (runs mainly haha!)

but I notice he doesn’t seem to dance. It’s only me him and his dad at home and I do little boogies when music is on and his dad doesn’t dance much but would bop with it on

Is this normal? We have a friend who has a baby 1 month younger and they dance to music like Bob up and down etc but their older siblings dance a lot the twins are in dance school so is it influence that helped there a bit?

Or do some babies not really Bob/dance

DS1 danced as a baby, DS2 didn’t. Now at 21 DS1 loves a dance and DS2 wouldn’t set foot on a dance floor. It’s just who they are. I must admit though, I love dancing with my big lad ❤️

Mine has started dancing now at 2. He has a few particular moves he cracks out while concentrating intensely.

Don’t worry OP. I was astounded that my friend’s DS was attempting to sing at 14 months. Again my DS didn’t do that until 2. They all do things differently.

Mine is 21 months and I would say has just really started dancing the last few weeks. Previously would just stand and look at my husband & me dancing at her .

This is a great image

I am 53 and have never danced, the modern style of dancing of just jigging around waving arms about is soo cringeworthy and embarrassing and I would be useless at it🙄

Were you doing the foxtrot as a girl… in 1990? 😁

I worried about this with my little boy. He's nearly 4 now and has just started dancing and he loves it.
All things come in time.
