Grown up Gro Clock?

DS is 5 nearly 6, he is an early waker and currently uses a Gro Clock to know when he can come and wake me. It works well but he's furious as he feels it is for babies!

He wants an alarm clock but he can't reliably tell the time or understand a digital clock. He absolutely doesn't need an alarm as he's awake most morning before the Gro Clock turns yellow.

We need something that looks super cool but has the same functions as his Gro Clock.

Any suggestions gratefully received. I've googled my self silly and all I can find is sunrise type lamps that brighten over a period of time.

He's asked for something that is red (stay in bed) at night and green (get up) for morning. I've considered a smart bulb as he currently has a night light but he wants a clock that does this. Help!

@mousedogbirdcat we have an original Yoto (3yrs old now) so unless it's been updated (there are 2 more versions since we got ours) you do have to tip it up for the nightlight to come on. You can adjust the brightness of the screen though so the clock face is as good as a nightlight. DD loves looking at the clock face and seeing the sun come on when it's time to get up

Thank you @lavagal, think I'm going to go for it if Mr Pernickety will agree, he's got very strong opinions at the moment and it could go either way!
