No because they're given on Easter Sunday!

Parky04 · 06/04/2023 21:48

No. Problem is I have just eaten one of theirs. Need to replace it tomorrow!

DD has eaten the creme egg she got at school but the rest from friends etc are set aside. We give them ours on Sunday plus they will see family and have egg hunt(s) then too. Monday morning choc coma long lie incoming!

No. It would be like giving them Christmas presents before Christmas Day.

Yes if someone else gives them some, Mil dropped some off and said they were for Sunday but i don’t agree so the kids are eating them now.

I was brought up RC so we were usually in lent with no sweets / chocolate and would get a huge haul on Easter Sunday from relatives / friends. Would gorge ourselves silly before lunch and then not eat the rest.

I am very much not RC now, the kids will have mini eggs or crème eggs and they get a couple of eggs from us and family. They are for Easter Sunday but they don't really have a sweet tooth so don't all get eaten. Dhs side of the family give money as an Easter gift which I find a bit odd but that's what they've always done.

No not til Easter Sunday. They've had the odd crème egg. I definitely don't let them have them tomorrow. Tomorrow is a sad day not a day of celebration. We don't eat meat either.
We are Catholic though. I don't have a problem with others doing their thing though especially if not religious.
Each to their own.

Proper Easter eggs are for Easter Sunday for us.

I don't mind having mini eggs/a creme egg in the run up to Easter.

BigMacExtraPickles · 06/04/2023 22:51

Proper mixed bag then hey!!

I don't give my kids the ones I've bought until Sunday (main egg plus smaller ones for egg hunt), but I do let them have the ones given by friends and family.

Used to be really strict on waiting until the big day but I guess I've gone soft 🤣🤣

Mini eggs, creme eggs etc are fair game as soon as they are on the shelves.
Actual, hollow, chocolate eggs are £ and they get one on Easter day. Bars of chocolate - or bags of sweets - are eaten freely tho.
