Do you let your kids eat Easter eggs before Easter Sunday?

Yes of course. Mind you, they don't get up till the afternoon now. Last year ds was eating a chocolate while helping me dish up the roast 😁

Youngest got one from wrap around nursery so she ate that on the way home. They both have had Easter lollies from school/clubs which they ate and they’ve had eggs on chocolate nests we made.

I generally say no too eat the ones from family for some illogical reason.

Oh, sorry, completely misread your post!
I don't give them any eggs before Easter Sunday, but if they get any from other people then yes. Otherwise there's just too much chocolate around on Easter day.

No! Shocking behaviour. Nought but mini-eggs until Sunday. And no chocolate rabbits or chicks until Sunday either, in case you're trying to wiggle out of the rule.

Yes, but only the smaller ones or chocolate rabbits that they ask for when we go the shops.

Any little things they get from playgroup/school yes. One chocolate egg from me on Sunday with an Easter egg hunt for the small eggs on the Sunday. Main egg eaten whenever until its gone then little eggs one a day after school!

If they get one from school I wouldn’t expect them to keep it. That’s all there is before, I think.

No! I buy ones to eat myself but anything given from anyone is saved til Easter Sunday. It's like opening Xmas presents before Xmas otherwise. Fine if you buy yourself stuff.

This is the same phenomenon we see over Christmas.

Everything is the wrong way around compared to traditional British valued and etiquette.

People would teach their children skills and one was delayed gratification.

During advent in the UK, if you watch Lucy Worsley, they would save up and offer generous gifts to those who couldn't, then all have a feast starting Christmas eve that lasted 12 days then return to normal life.

Now people are celebrating in strange ways, there are elves starting North Pole feats and boxes of teats on different days. It's all out of sorts.

In lent the UK once again went through a period of waiting for their egg treats on Easter Sunday.

The agreed tradition and etiquette would have provided a nice rythem to life for children. Now there is confusion, some making out that they are worth more, some worth less because of whatever modern twist and fantasy their Mum has invented. It's quite chaotic for adults never mind children to navigate.

Not usually but will be having them on good Friday this year as I'm working Sunday and we're out all day busy on Saturday

I wouldn't give them before Sunday and my parents will be bringing them Easter eggs on Saturday but they will save them until Sunday.

We've all eaten a ton of creme eggs and mini eggs though and if they got one from school or friends or whatever I'd let them eat them.

We are pretty relaxed about Easter though. It's basically a normal Sunday but with extra chocolate.

No. When we were children we had to wait until Easter Sunday and I expect the same, as does my sister. My husband tries it on every year but it doesn’t get him anywhere. 😂

When the children were little, absolutely they had to wait.

Now they are teenagers no one cares and I buy the £1 choc button eggs as friday night treats for them from February.

DD doesn't even want an Easter egg this year.

We aren't religious either so I am at a bit of a loss how to fill all the hours this weekend now that no one cares it's Easter! I will probably do repeat tip visits.

Yes. They’ve had a lot from their various clubs and school raffles and I’ve let them eat them. I helped as well
