Football in the garden

My kids, 8 and 11, are into football. Neighbour always used to throw balls back over the fence but recently started hogging them so I went round to collect - he got really stroppy - I deliberately have the goal away from the fence to stop the ball hitting the fence (my fence, merely to stop the noise) so any ball flying over the fence from now on is a complete no-no… I came up with a plan to erect a frame with a net which I’m planning on building up to 3 metres which should stop anything going over… I know the regs stipulate fence being no more 2 metres tall. It’s all going to be neat, uniform colour, black… where do I stand if he kicks off about that? Just so I’m prepared lol

To be honest once they got decent power in their kick, around 12 and 10, we gave the goals to younger kids and they took their ball off to the park instead.

I didn't used to mind our neighbours playing football but it's got ridiculous in recent months. We have really tall fences and they have a net up but still manage to boot numerous footballs over. We used to kick them back but in recent times they have smashed DDs paddling pool by kicking a ball which hit it, they've kicked footballs into our washing but worst of all they actually hit our baby with a ball when he was 5 months old. He was fine but since then I've been keeping hold of their footballs. They can either come round to claim them (in which case they'll be told exactly what their footballs have done) or, we're moving house soon, so they can have them thrown back over then. I'm all for kids having fun but not when it is at the expense of my own kids.
