I keep hoping my ds will enjoy the Move With Me swingy chair (£130!) but it is not happening! Grin

I don’t know whether to resell or see if a potential subsequent baby would enjoy it.

The cot. Really didn’t want to go anywhere near it and ended up co-sleeping for 14 months.

Standrewsschool · 18/06/2021 07:52

Moses basket +- neither of mine liked them

ForkedIt · 18/06/2021 07:56

The bassinet bit of the pram, she hated it and screamed every time. At 12 weeks we realised the seat part reclined a long way but left them sat up a tiny bit and she was happy as Larry. So the pram as a whole was useful, just not the baby bit.

Luckily we only got a cheap IKEA cot because she never slept one night in it. Slept fine as a young baby in her next to me crib (thank god) but then refused the cot so at almost 2 years old still co sleeps - she has a double bed though so we take it in turns to sleep in her room.

A sling / carrier called the close caboo or something. Stretchy wrap - great. Tula - great. This weird trying to be both thing - not great.

That’s all I can think of…
She loved the electric swingy chair but again I think it’s because she preferred to be sat up a bit.

Also the cot, not been in it once 😂

Timeforabiscuit · 18/06/2021 07:58

Playmats, bouncy chairs and toys!

I thought babies wanted stimulation, mine didnt!

ApplesandBananas21 · 18/06/2021 07:58

Should have added, I keep all my baby stuff in the lost incase another comes along!

AnnaSW1 · 18/06/2021 08:01

Cot, Moses basket and bjorn carrier.

sofiathe2nd · 18/06/2021 08:01

Cot/bedside crib/Moses basket for both of mine.

MangosteenSoda · 18/06/2021 08:06

Pram bassinet, jumperoo plus oscillation between about three different slings/carriers. Expensive child Hmm

mogtheexcellent · 18/06/2021 08:15

Playpen. Fussed about buying one as had dog and wanted to be able to pop yo the loo or kitchen without carrying DD around. Both second hand but really large and cumbersome. Dd went in once. Dog never paid any attention to her.

burritofan · 18/06/2021 08:20

Snuzpod – most expensive bedside table ever. Pram – expensive hallway clutter ever. The 1m muslins I was told were a must-have – untouched (she wasn’t a sicky baby). Electric breast pump – can’t use it if the child is never off the boob/always in the sling.

Conversely, she’s got a toy box of absolute favourites that cost nowt – loo roll tubes, an ancient wallet, an old Pret gift card (“it my FAVRIT!”)…

CactusPat · 18/06/2021 08:20

We were lent a Mamaroo that the baby couldn’t have cared less about. Also absolutely hated the Ergobaby carrier. Was indifferent to Baby Björn bouncer too.

ItsSnowJokes · 18/06/2021 08:21

Clothes in size 0-3 and 3-6 months as she went in a pavlik harness for hip dysplasia at 2 weeks old and those clothes didn't fit. Sad

Her bouncy chair for the same reason but got a leaf swinging chair and she loved that.

miltonj · 18/06/2021 08:24

She hated the next to me cot, wouldn't really entertain it until she was technically too big for it. We had the extra long Moses basket by schnuggle which she slept on the floor in until 6 months! Wish she still fit in it.

dancinfeet · 18/06/2021 08:29

Swinging chair, she screamed in it then threw up every time. So much for gently rocking baby to sleep.

Tibtab · 18/06/2021 08:30

I spent £200 on reusable nappies for my DD, she hated them - would cry when I put them on her. Switched back to disposables.

Yorkshireswithallroasts · 18/06/2021 08:31

Slings and various blankets to swaddle him in. He detested both! Oh and Weetabix. He wasn’t a very good eater early on and the Health Visitor used to always say ‘give him Weetabix, all babies love Weetabix’. He did not, in fact, love Weetabix. Still doesn’t.

Babdoc · 18/06/2021 08:32

I had my contract terminated when I was on maternity leave, so we had no money to waste on expensive nonessentials.
I did get a cheap baby sling/carrier thing, but my babies were both eight and a half pounders at birth, and gained weight so quickly my neck hurt trying to carry them, so it was hardly used.

Jabbinell · 18/06/2021 08:32

Baby bjorn bouncing chair- ebay baby!

Skyeheather · 18/06/2021 08:34

Neither of my babies would go in the Moses basket, cost me nearly £100.00 for the basket and stand, had it up for sale for £20.00 on Facebay for the past year and nobody wants it!

My first loved the jumperoo, my second hated it.

My first loved going out in the pram, my second hated the pram attachment and got pushed around in the car seat attached to the base (travel system) until he was big enough for the pushchair seat.

If you're going to have another, I would keep the seat. All babies are different, your next might like it. I couldn't get my first out of his jumperoo but me second screamed to get out the minute I put him in it.

Poppop4 · 18/06/2021 08:37

SIL insisted on buying dd this all singing all dancing play mat it had light displays, music, sensory things to look at and touch. I’m sure it was about £150 from some random company. She hated it! She much preferred the £15 Argos one with a piano at the bottom that she could kick

Baypony · 18/06/2021 11:06

Ewan the dream sheep! Absolute crap. Just too weird for my little one. We got given two!!! Luckily they re-sell bery well 😆 We abandoned this in favour of an old iphone and bluetooth speaker, more choice of music that you can play on repeat.
And those stupid ‘minature’ outfits you get given by relatives which make your child look like a tiny Edwardian, tiny trousers with braces a shirt and bow tie, What newborn needs that? Or the silly tiny dresses with HUGE net skirts and loads of tiny buttons. They went straight to the charity shop 🤣

Mummytomylittlegirl · 18/06/2021 11:09

A snuzpod! So useless. She outgrew it too quickly and preferred the cheap Moses basket/ our bed anyway.

An ergo baby 360 sling- so bulky, hated it. She just never fit in it properly. Ended up using fabric wrap that cost me about £5.

Mummytomylittlegirl · 18/06/2021 11:12

Oh and one of those crazy expensive chairs? Mamaroo. She had terrible colic and we thought it would solve all our problems and we’d finally be able to put her down… HA.

This time around we’ve only bought a cot, some Moses baskets and white babygrows.

Cot, Bouncer, play mat (he likes that now at 18 mths tho). Should also point out the £19 chicco booster highchair is the item he loves the most - he always hated proper highchairs and wanted to sit up against the table like us.
