I always remember the paddling pool being freeeezing as a child. I put warm water in for the kids.

I bought a hot and cold outside mixer tap to use on the dogs but great for a paddling pool.

Surely that's the thing about British summer, boil out of the pool or freeze in it that's the choice!

We connect the hosepipe to the kitchen mixer tap and run it as warm as a bath BlushGrin

Yes. I wouldn't like it cold, and the kids wouldn't stay in it cold anyway.

buttersidedown · 09/05/2020 21:51

Yes, warm with bubble bath here too! It’s a waste of time putting cold in for my kids as they just won’t go in it.

Figmentofimagination · 09/05/2020 23:23

Now looking at connectors to attach my hosepipe to my kitchen sink tap.

inwood · 09/05/2020 23:25

No!

I did not know you could get a hot water tap outside. Revelation. Will look into getting that done! Filled the pool today and my DSs were shivering in seconds - this is despite carrying buckets and buckets of hot water to and from the kitchen to throw in too.

Does anyone know anything about pool heaters? My friend mentioned one... has anyone got one?

seven201 · 09/05/2020 23:48

We do the attachment to the kitchen sink thing. I had a lovely time in the paddling pool bath this afternoon.

snowybean · 10/05/2020 00:02

"Dad! Daaaaaaaaad! Can you boil the kettle one more time???"

We’ve got a hot outdoor tap so unless it’s an absolutely boiling day our paddling pool is warm. DS will sit/lie in it for ages playing with his bath toys so it’s worth the hot water.
Kids still love running through a freezing cold sprinkler or having a water fight so they’re not totally nesh Grin

Anoisagusaris · 10/05/2020 00:11

Never heard the word ‘mesh’ before.

And I actually thought the thread question was a joke until I read so many replies saying yes to warm water!

Would never occur to me to do it.

ErrolTheDragon · 10/05/2020 00:17

I didn't used to.
If it was too cool then DD could wear her shortie wetsuit.

This may explain why she took so well to windsurfing and sailing on (and in!Grin) a Pennine reservoir when she'd outgrown the paddling pool stage.

And I actually thought the thread question was a joke until I read so many replies saying yes to warm water! that’s so funny.
