Snaf · 19/07/2007 21:52

Nope, would never occur to me.

FairyMum · 19/07/2007 21:52

no

UCM · 19/07/2007 21:52

No I don't! I am surprised that the other Mums do this to be honest. I have enough trouble stopping him walloping everyone else without encouraging him.

My two boys will play fight with anyone, including me. What's wrong with it?

bozza · 19/07/2007 21:53

no

handlemecarefully · 19/07/2007 21:53

Good lord - no!

TheArmadillo · 19/07/2007 21:53

Not punching or any form of hitting.

He does jump on us and we throw him around though - rough playing.

handlemecarefully · 19/07/2007 21:53

Not necessarily anything wrong with it. Sounds like a lot of effort to me though!

tribpot · 19/07/2007 21:53

No - have never done this, and neither has his daddy.

GrimoireThief · 19/07/2007 21:54

I used to play fight with my brother. Never something my mum would have joined in with.

womba1 · 19/07/2007 21:54

My ds is 4 and we do tickles, jumping around like eejits, bundling on top of dh and the beanbag, but not fighting.

If you're out of touch, then so am i!!

stressteddy · 19/07/2007 21:54

Nope, no fighting. Rolling on floor and tickling - yes

frogs · 19/07/2007 21:54

Er, no, I don't. My 8yo needs no encouragement to do this, and only very small quantities of playfighting will send him unmanageably hyper. But I did have a dd first, so my sensibilities may be different. People with 3 or 4 boys seem to be more robust in this department.

wannaBe · 19/07/2007 21:54

god no.

LoonyLyraLovegood · 19/07/2007 21:55

Surely not full-on fighting that would hurt, just a bit of rough and tumble. That's what boys like to do.

CountTo10 · 19/07/2007 21:55

We do but its more about tickling each other than actual fighting. We try and keep it friendly otherwise ds gets over excited and then starts going over the top and hitting and kicking. We have to be careful cause he is quite boisterous and if we were doing it all the time, so would he. Dp does play wrestle with him which I don't particularly like as ds is not yet 3 and doesn't always understand the difference between play and proper fighting. We also don't call it fighting and certainly don't do play punching!!!

southeastastra · 19/07/2007 21:55

no that's what his brother is for

handlemecarefully · 19/07/2007 21:56

I suspect my small boy might have difficulty distinguishing that this is 'pretend' fighting and thus okay, but that real fighting is not okay...

FrayedKnot · 19/07/2007 21:59

Definitely not

We tickle, cuddle, and I swing him upside down and threaten to throw him in the bin but it wouldn;t ever cross my mind tbh, nor DH

FirenzeandZooey · 19/07/2007 22:01

DS would love for me to do this, and has asked for it

I don't do it

FirenzeandZooey · 19/07/2007 22:01

oh the was for the fact that I don't do it, not for the fact that he has asked

no I don't do it.

I am the nurtere and dh is the player. That is my story and I am sticking to it .

dh does play wrestle and tickling around with the boys and my dd . They love it.

REBELlatrixlestrange · 19/07/2007 22:04

No, mine do more than enough fighting amongst themselves.

mymama · 19/07/2007 22:05
