As I totally want to steal ideas? Grin

My son is 2 in February so I'd like to try and pick things up in the sale.

We've already got him the Happyland plane and Learn to Count (think that's BigJigs), and we're also getting him a raincoat ready for Spring.

Any other ideas for presents? He's got very generous grandparents and uncles who want to get things for him, so I have no clue!!

He's had a bunch of Happyland stuff today from various family members, plus Playdoh, a shopping till, and also some Toot Toot stuff.

A playhouse. He's nearly 4 and still plays in it every day.

KoshaMangsho · 25/12/2018 19:55

I was going to say HAPPYLAND! All the Happyland possible. Even my almost 7 year old will play with it sometimes in his room! The nearly 2 year old got lots of Happyland. For his birthday he’s getting a mini scooter and helmet in Jan.

And Melissa and Doug cutting fruit.

He also likes the Haba My Very First Board Games but he has enough of those.

Our DD was 2 in October. We got her a play kitchen for her birthday however got her a scooter for Christmas. You can get scooters for 2+ and it would be perfect for your child's birthday coming into spring if that helps?

Five kids so lots of 2nd birthdays :-) - a hobby horse, a toy kitchen, dolls pushchair, big Mega Blocks, wooden bricks.

howtobehuman · 25/12/2018 20:00

We've just got a little ride on car called a bobby car which he loves

MadeForThis · 25/12/2018 20:09

Just suggestions

Play kitchen

Play house
Toy piano
Ball pool

Santababyclaus · 25/12/2018 20:15

Second the cutting fruit (although we have Wilkos which is much cheaper than Melissa and Doug). My dd had it for her 2nd and she still regularly plays with it at 3.5

17caterpillars1mouse · 25/12/2018 20:53

Duplo!

TigerQuoll · 26/12/2018 01:10

A strider bike

IWantMyHatBack · 26/12/2018 01:12

WHEEEEELEYBUG

IWantMyHatBack · 26/12/2018 01:14

Sorry. I think it's essential. Ours is ancient and when the big one grew out of it the youngest claimed it. Totally worth the money. Ours is 12 years old now and is only just looking a bit shit.

firawla · 26/12/2018 01:22

My dd just turned 2 today and got a scooter, playdough sets, wooden playfood, colouring and painting bits - stampers, stencils etc, a few different puzzles, grimms rainbow, a few books (story books and sticker activity types), frozen matching pairs game, pjs, a few hair bits, small cafe set.
Didn’t really get her one “big present” but lots of smaller bits and they went down well!
Also took her to build a bear earlier in the month to get the birthday bear which is a good deal!

EdtheBear · 26/12/2018 01:28

DS1 got a kitchen that he never played with.
DS2 got duplo and paw patrol

Sashkin · 27/12/2018 21:15

Brio train set. He is OBSESSED with trains though - we take him to the children’s cafe and he always makes a beeline for the trainset so we knew he’d like it. We also got him the Melissa and Doug latches barn which has different doors to open with farm animals inside.

SheepyFun · 27/12/2018 21:22

Toy digger and Brio (well, mostly knock off Brio!). She loved both!

2cats2many · 27/12/2018 21:30

A micro scooter.

Fatted · 27/12/2018 21:33

Toot toots. Duplo. Eldest got a chuggington trainset that youngest still loves playing with now at 3.5.

TinselandToblerones · 27/12/2018 21:37

We got shed loads of duplo at 2. It’s still played with daily 3years later

IncomingCannonFire · 27/12/2018 22:02

Interactive castle with dragon, knights, catapult, etc.
Duplo
Playdoh
Magnetic drawing board
Balance bike
Wooden train set
Ball pool
Football
Garden slide
Playmobil (with tiny pieces removed)
Toy cars and garage
Garbage truck/ dumper truck/ tractor/etc with movable parts and noises.

Spaceship and accessories
Some ideas..

riddles26 · 28/12/2018 11:44

Similar situation here with very generous family members. Our one got:
Balance Bike
Scooter
Helmet (for both of above)
Wobbel Board (most used out of all the presents)
Magnatiles & Tegu
Contribution towards swing and slide for garden

Tipsylizard · 28/12/2018 14:55

Scooter and helmut/railway set/balance bike/play kichen/play house/megablocks/buiding magnets...all popular with my 2 year old.

NameChange30 · 28/12/2018 15:13

DS is 21 months.

He got the following for Christmas (not all from us, most from family!)
Play kitchen, pots and pans, toaster
Toy pushchair and doll
Playmobil
Brio trains
Toot toot vehicles
Simple puzzles
Play doh
Books

For his 2nd birthday we are getting him a scooter and helmet. I also want to get him "my first photobook" - a board book with photos of family etc - as he loves looking at photos.

He is really into colouring atm so if my parents ask for ideas I will probably suggest an easel, and maybe some paint sticks.

Oh and he enjoys playing with megabloks, so they'd be a good present for a toddler who doesn't already have some.

BikeRunSki · 28/12/2018 15:15
