It was actually a christmas present, but it was a big box full of old clothes/hats/scarfs/bags/jewellery that I got from charity shops and boot sales. dd1 is 3 and dd2 is nearly 2 and they use it all the time.

Fredsmum · 31/08/2004 20:49

mini trampoline a big hit

Hulababy · 31/08/2004 21:08

xoz - that sounds fab. I am hoping to persuade DD's great grandparents to find (or make) my 2yo DD a wooden chest for dressing up clothes. Your idea of charity shops is great - I will go a hunting nearer the time I think.

DD's favourite toy was actually for Christmas - Baby Annabel. And for her birthday - big, toy kitchen.

I'm with Paula on this one - ds had first birthday last week and has most enjoyed two large boxes which had contained presents. I also finally gave in and removed my books from the bottom two shelves of the bookcase and replaced them with a random selection of old magazines and his board-books etc. So now he can indulge in his favourite pastime of 'removing all the books from the bookcase and trying to eat them' without me getting stressed

Animal hospital is my dd's fave!

hulk hands for my 2 yr old thuglet!

OldieMum · 01/09/2004 12:58

DD's favourite 1st birthday present was a ride-on dog. For Christmas (12 days before her birthday) she got a £10 purple plastic rocking horse from ToysRUs and that has been her most favourite present ever. The dressing-up box idea sounds great. I'll have a lot of fun putting one together.

Marina · 01/09/2004 13:07

Playmobil, which I am very happy about, wooden bow and arrow set, not so enchanted. Both used almost continuously, sometimes together (ds can now fire little men round the garden).

lou33 · 01/09/2004 13:19

A five foot inflatable Hulk.

enid · 01/09/2004 13:27

I second hama beads. Also we bought dd1's birthday present early this year (a bike) and she loves it with a passion and even has her bike helmet by her bed every night.

dd2's - Maisy pop up house.

codswallop · 01/09/2004 13:29

lol at all incredible " honk" poeple

lou33 · 01/09/2004 13:43

ds2 shook with excitement when he got it in feb. He still tries to sleep with it every night.

blossomhill · 01/09/2004 13:57

My ds's favourite present ever has to be a mini version of the Thomas Island of Sodor. He played with it for hours.

aloha · 01/09/2004 14:07

Not a present, but cake.

highlander · 02/09/2004 18:53

my niece and nephew aren't allowed fizzy drinks so my sister gave my niece a 500ml bottle of Coke for her 4th birthday. Apparently it stayed in the fridge, unopened, for days as my niece enjoyed admiring "her" bottle so much!

Gem13 · 02/09/2004 19:25

Cosy Coupe for DS then 1.5 .Played with every day since Christmas (9 months and counting). First toy he goes to when we've been away too.

granarybeck · 02/09/2004 21:49

Hama beads, dd got two sets for her birthday a month ago and has literally done nothing else since (apart from the odd bounce on mini trampoline, other best pressie).

WestCountryLass · 02/09/2004 22:26

My DS loves all the wooden train track that he wa given for his last birthday!

zebra · 03/09/2004 21:08

Tractors & trailers.
DD gets a wonderful rocking horse next month for her 3rd birthday, if she doesn't love it,... I'll sell her on Ebay to pay for it.

Blu · 03/09/2004 21:27

LOL Aloha!
A pirate hat...and sword.
