Fucking Fred and Flo!!

Was using Tesco loves Baby nappies for my daughter, now they've changed them to 'Fred and Flo' fair enough, went and bought my usual 4 packs, thinking it was just rebranding and they wouldn't mess with the nappies.

*Wrong!
*
Nappies are totally shite now, much smaller fit, massive gaps at the side and so so thin. Can't imagine them holding much.

So now I'm going to have to trail back to Tesco to return them, and find a new brand of nappies!

Any suggestions anyone?

My DD came out in a huge rash when using these, despite never having an issue with the old ones.
She only wore them at night and was dry every time she used them. It’s taking ages to clear up.

Ive switched to co-op ones.

RightOnTheEdge · 10/12/2018 21:02

My dc are out of nappies now but I also used the Lidl ones and thought they were great.

Sobiaf · 10/12/2018 21:06

So glad I'm not the only one after reading this post! Loved the old Tesco ones but so so disappointed after the rebrand.

@MessyBun247 have you tried Metanium - the yellow tube? My baby girl had a horrible sore rash and this helped clear it up over a few days

So far the wipes seem okay, although they look a bit smaller than before. Have a pack of size 3s waiting once DS finishes with the Pampers that were on offer so we’ll see how we go with those....

Whyislarryhappy · 18/12/2018 13:01

Aldi

lovely36 · 22/12/2018 20:28

Asda and Sainsbury's brand are my favourite. Very thick and durable.

Cakeandmarshmallows · 22/12/2018 20:55

Agree that I dont like the re branded tesco nappies. They leak badly!! Currently using boots own brand til I can get to Sainsburys or aldi!

Tjc30 · 29/01/2019 21:49

Fred and flo nappies are brilliant for my 5 month old, I’ve tried pampers, aldi, Lidl and they all give her nappy rash but these are the ones she is fine with and the stretchy waist band is a great extra on them. I also use them on my nearly 3 old as well can’t find a nappy that fits tidy apart from these the waist band is great doesn’t dig into him and he drink loads which they absorb all the urine.
The wipes are exactly the same as the previous brand, not really a fan of the wipes in general as they are thin but they get the job done

Cakeandmarshmallows · 29/01/2019 22:22

I've switched to Sainsburys and they have a lovely stretchy bit at the back as well. I find they are longer as it were and fit better round the waist.

AmyBee1302 · 16/02/2019 09:24

Check each nappy before putting on your babies as I have found 2 nappies not up to standard in the past 2 weeks. 1 had a big bit of dried glue on the surface of the inside of the nappy and just yesterday I found a small splinter of wood just under the surface of the nappy. Not a happy customer, the old tesco nappies were far superior in fit and quality

HoneysuckIejasmine · 16/02/2019 09:29

We also found DCs got nappy rash with Fred and Flo. Now make special trips to literally any other shop to get theirs instead.

Pinksoda21 · 21/04/2019 23:02

Been using tesco nappies for the last year but since they changed to fred and flo there like a size smaller !? started using them for my DD as they were a big fit the 6+ but realised today that they have made them smaller again I brought them back but the staff didnt seem to know anything . My DD is very tall for 2 and a half and is about 22kg nappy compaines dont seem to be taking this into account that some childten are just big for there age ,had a job to get nappies to fit dont know what to use now any suggestions ? would be a great help thanks 😊

tartandreams · 22/04/2019 08:57

@Pinksoda21 we have been using little angels (Asda) nappies since we stopped using Tesco!

kingab · 03/05/2019 21:24

Thats my feeling as well !!!
I had a package of 5+ till 26/04 and was a good fit for my boy. I bough new pack following day and the elastic on both sides shrinked dramatically. They suddenly tear and break.
I basically used tesco nappies for the past year and a half.
Fred and flo was in use in my house since being rebranded, but from day to another its impossible, as they dont have enough stretch around belly..... I bought already 3 packs to verify if all same....and all 3 are same and impossible to wear at present :(

Tootyfrooty35 · 05/05/2019 11:54

Just had our first blow out in these new Fred and flos, DS is one month old but in size threes. Just changed from the older style newborn in size two and not impressed. Quite thin too.
Will stick with sainsbury as they have a flap near the bum to prevent blow outs 👌

Baloonphobia · 05/05/2019 11:58

Haven't RTFT so apologies if I missed something. We use the Fred and Flo nappies on our toddler and we think they're great.

PassMeTheWine · 05/05/2019 12:30

Aldi or asda are the best for my dc's.

vik86 · 30/09/2019 12:13

Aldi or lidl we got the fred and flo pull ups size 6. My LG has never had a sore bum like this, They smell like chemicals as well.. my friend pointed that out. We have binned the rest and gone back to aldi!

Cutesbabasmummy · 30/09/2019 12:14

Aldi and Lidl are both fantastic

Pinkrose121 · 07/01/2020 18:34

Very late in responding to this thread. .But I was using tesco nappies. Since rebrand bought for short period. HOWEVER....the velcro elastic part has zero give and I find I end up wasting/throwing at least 6 nappies away due to band breaking BEFORE I even get any use. So now buying Mamia or Amazon own brand.
