Looking to get some more 'that's not my' books and wondered what people would consider the best ones / their favourites

So far from ours the favourite is that's not my puppy

My son loves That's not my car and That's not my Truck - we know them word for word Smile

SarahJonesS · 11/08/2017 19:52

My dd loves the hamster and frog. I like the meerkat Grin

TuddlesAndSisses · 11/08/2017 19:52

They are literally all the same. Branch out before you go too mad.

Where's my cow by Terry Pratchett is really good.

Chatoyant · 11/08/2017 20:46

That's not my santa "his sack is too rough"
That's not my princess "her fan is too fluffy"
Have to amuse myself somehow!

Ratbagratty · 11/08/2017 21:07

That's not my husband! Oh kids ones erm that's not my Dragon (ending isn't soft like most).

theredjellybean · 11/08/2017 21:14

That's not my cocktail.... We love making adult versions

QueenNefertitty · 11/08/2017 21:18

DS loves the car one. And the Santa. Personally my favourite is the unicorn.

He's also quite into Nosy Crow's series "where's mr lion" etc , if you're looking to branch out.

QueenNefertitty · 11/08/2017 21:18

YY to the pp who has also had a snicker at the rough sack...

KenDoddsDadsDog · 11/08/2017 21:22

That's not my baby was my favourite

lorali · 11/08/2017 22:00

Love santa's rough sack GrinDC's favourite is the owl.

kingofthemingers · 11/08/2017 22:00

They're literally all the same.

Fridayfun · 11/08/2017 22:03

Terry Pratchett's "Where's My Cow" is great. If you've read any of his Discworld series you'll get more out of it, but it's still a good stand alone read.

StarCrossdSkys · 11/08/2017 22:04

I wouldn't recommend the penguin one. They don't have many distinguishing features.

Didactylos · 11/08/2017 22:06

Thats not my bunny
because the one with ' thats not my bunny - its eyes are too shiny'
can be changed to ' thats not my bunny - it is a dead eyed minion of the underworld reaching from the page to steal my soul aaaahhh shut the book, quick, shut the book!'
DP at least found it amusing

seriously, get the bunny one and see

StarSpotter · 11/08/2017 22:06

Robot is by far the best.

TuckMyWin · 11/08/2017 22:14

Didactylos in our house it's 'that's not my bunny, it's taken too much ecstasy'.

Elledouble · 11/08/2017 22:16

That's Not My Badger. Although now it's out of favour because badgers are "too scary".

WhatInTheWorldIsGoingOn · 11/08/2017 22:21

That's not my Santa because DH and I like to laugh at his rough sack. We also like to test people by reading it when they are listening. If they laugh then they are good friend material.

WhatInTheWorldIsGoingOn · 11/08/2017 22:22

And yes the bunny one does look like it wants to chew your face off whilst you sleep.

MsPassepartout · 11/08/2017 22:25

My boys liked That's Not My Train and That's Not My Robot because they like trains and robots.

I agree with a pp, they are all basically the same. I'd be guided by your DC's interests. If you think they like trains, get the train one. If you think they like bunnies, get the bunny one.

Popskipiekin · 11/08/2017 22:27

I like that's not my lamb - think it has a higher ratio of proper touchy-feely pages (as opposed to the shit shiny ones that you can't differentiate from the actual paper of the page). That's not my baby, for the mirror at the end. But agree - they're all the same.

scoobyloobyloo · 11/08/2017 22:31

That's Not My Life

That's not my understairs cupboard, it's tidy
That's not my laundry room, there's no washing in it
That's not my cup of tea, it's warm
That's not my phone, it's charged
Those aren't my keys, they're lost
That's not my child, it's clean and well behaved

NerrSnerr · 11/08/2017 22:32

My daughter liked That's not my tractor but it got wrecked. We have the terrifying bunny. There's a really sinister penguin too.

Xmasbaby11 · 11/08/2017 22:33

Aren't they all the same?

We have at least 4 but I couldn't tell you which ones!
