Looking to get some more 'that's not my' books and wondered what people would consider the best ones / their favourites

So far from ours the favourite is that's not my puppy

They are all the same. I hid ours as I couldn't bear reading them again and again...'where's the little mouse?'

Although we moved into Julia Donaldson and I'm getting bored of those now. Any other ideas for an 18 months old that's obsessed with books?

the Kitten is the classic in our house.

Our favourite was pirate.

Teddy bear was rubbish.

I'm not keen on them. Often I feel they don't make much sense, they don't choose the most appropriate/best words to describe that particular thing and I get annoyed reading them Blush.

That's not my princess!
Her fan is too fluffy Shock
I shit you not, snorted in the GP waiting room.

Monkey and Duck are the faves in our house! Although now I want to get the Santa one!!

WinterIsComingKnitFaster · 12/08/2017 22:36

Oh I miss these. Even tiny non speaking babies can find the mouse.

Robot and dinosaur were good.

They're all the same. So many wonderful kids books out there, branch out!

wobblywonderwoman · 13/08/2017 15:52

I have to agree.. Don't buy too many more. They will grow out of them.
Dear zoo have a tactile version and it will last them years. Also Peepo is nice.
Any of the lift the flap books are great (The Farm one think it is oh dear - Rod Campbell)

CheerfulMuddler · 13/08/2017 20:57

At 18 months mine liked anything with flaps or sound buttons (the Nosy Crow Listen To ... series have sound buttons they can work themselves, which not all noisy books do). Also any with paper engineering that flaps wings or opens eyes or whatever.
Ones with lots of clear photographs of household objects are good too - there are loads with titles like 100 First Words. Also Maisy if you can bear her. I loathe her with a fiery passion and am not letting any more into my house, but DS adores her.
Tbh, you want a library card really. If only for your own sanity.

CheerfulMuddler · 13/08/2017 20:58

Oh, there's a nice collection of dead, dead simple Mog board books - four for a fiver - which are brilliant value, and they're tiny, so fit really easily into a changing bag.

^^ Excellent idea. Borrow books for free - there's always several That's Not My..... in the libraries we go to - and if you borrow any that are particular hits, you can buy them safe in the knowledge that it's a book your DC likes and will want to reread.
