Ikea Antilop High Chair

DS is just over five months old now and is EBF. I'm intending to go down the baby-led weaning route when he gets to six months. I'm looking for a high chair and after doing some research it would appear that all roads lead to the Ikea Antilop! Is it as good as everyone says and will I need the cushion as we won't be starting until he can sit up unaided anyway. Thanks Smile

Hmmm he's chunky (91st centile) and wears bulky cloth nappies but I think I'll get the cushion anyway.

No chance to try before I buy as I'll be buying online - nearest Ikea is 100+ miles away.

Going to order this afternoon. Thanks everyone.

My 98th centile 5 mo old has the cushion very slightly inflated just for a bit of padding and to move him closer to his toys (no food yet!)

I'm not sure I'd buy the cushion just for him (had it for DD) but then for the cost, you may as well!

It's a great high chair for spoonfeeders too btw Wink

I wouldn't bother with the cushion just fold up a towel and stuff it in behind them. I never even opened the one I bought.

I got one for a £1 for my gd at my local car boot.
The woman selling it said both her babies had loved it and it still looks as good as new!
I got the cushion for 90p, gd loves sitting at the table with us.

Another one here who loves the antilop! Had it for DD, lent it to someone and ever got it back so bought a new one for DS. Hands down my best baby buy. Easy to use, easy to clean, SUCH a bargain price, lasts amazingly, travels well (ours did a 250-mile round trip recently). I genuinely don't know why anyone would buy any other highchair tbh.

Yes yes yes! It's fab and do get the cushion and the tray! Just don't trip over the legs as they stick out a bit! Lol!

Another resounding yes here!
We are still using it for ds who is almost 3, we used the cushion at first, just to give a bit more support.

For the price you may as well get the cushion.

We got two - one to wash one to use.
