Understandably this is a very sensitive subject for many people so all answers will be treated in strict confidence.

I am asking for people to fill it in on here because I know there is such a wide variation of opinion, age and religion (I will have to hunt some males down to fill it in as well)

Because it is such a sensitive subject I will happily accept answers to my e-mail, once the answers have been noted down I shall delete the e-mail.

NO NAMES ARE NEEDED SO FEEL FREE TO NAME CHANGE ETC.

OK I shall list the questions in my next post.

OK, here we go:

  1. Yes to all: I believe that women should have the right to end a pregnancy for whatever reason (that doesn't mean I think all reasons are good ones; but I think the choice rests with the woman).
  1. No.
  1. The upper limit should stay for the few rare cases when it is necessary. We should try to facilitate abortion happening as early as possible.
  1. Yes I have. So has my mother, my grandmother, my aunt, many of my friends.
  1. Yes.
  1. Ideally no but where absolutely necessary yes. Doctors should continue to have discretion, as at present.
  1. I have no religious beliefs.
  1. Technically yes, i think it is. To many people with faith, yes it would be. But most women have a 'common sense' concept of abortion in which it becomes more serious as the pregnancy develops. Most of us find the idea of later abortion much more distressing than earlier termination, and don't find the morning after pill at all ethically taxing.
