Did you wait the six weeks to have sex?

I had a normal vaginal delivery with a couple of stitches. I'm really not sure whether to wait the six weeks to have sex because I'm absolutely rampant. Considering we barely had see during pregnancy due to my non existent sex drive, I'm quite keen to give it a go sooner rather than later. Am now three weeks post partum - think it's safe as long as lochia has stopped and I'm feeling well?

everyone told me you couldn't get pregnant while breastfeeding...EXCEPT the midwife that discharged me from hospital when I gave birth. The first thing she brought up was contraception and I rather naively said "But I'm breastfeeding?!" She gave me a little smile and said "People think that... Then they're back here in 9 months with number 2!"
I don't know enough about it but she told me it's better to take an extra precaution, especially if you're not feeling ready to have another! Oh, and whatever you do, lube! Makes it so much better, even 6 months on.

Assumed I had to wait six weeks first time round, then got a period , so waited seven weeks. More clued up second time round and dtd after 3 weeks. Whatever works for you OP

We waited 2 weeks after the birth of DD1 I we couldn't wait any longer!
With DD2 it was about 5/6 months I was breastfeeding constantly so had no time for sex

As long as you feel ready and the bleeding has stopped it should be fine

Waited till 3 weeks after EL Section. I was gagging for it. My sex drive is so much better off the pill.

Crikey. All these posts are making me feel extremely frigid! 11 months in here and have dtd twice - once at 9 weeks and once about 2 weeks ago! Neither time was I particularly keen or up for it. My poor DH must feel like we will never have sex again!!

I bf DD1 and was on the mini pill - I got pregnant again when DD1 was 4 months old ......so be careful!
