I've just spent the afternoon arguing whether impressionists really did ignore the gulf between spontanious preperatory sketch and finished work as Baudelaire considered existed.

Who gives a shit really.

How is it going for everyone else?

Call it a midlife crisis as my baby is 2 and I intend to stay home until she is in school but will venture back slowly to the workforce. We moved over from canada for the year. Oh, my the UK, because we love, love, love it. My dh studied and lse and we lived here before so he talked me into doing this.

Sis- perhaps you define sect differtnly my lecturers define it as a minor religion that sahres seceral princimples with other major more widely followed religions (Ahimsa, Karma, reincarnation. It is of course quite true that Jainism outdates hiduisma nd Buddhism.

Uni doesn't seem to do Mum's any more- they changed the startingt ime to nine, and now give us two hours notice for cumplusory meetings after school hours.

Not sure how this year wil pan out, after A's last will be realaly sad if they blow it for me.

I sat in our common room on Friday and figured out that I could have taught most of the people I am on my course with! Most of them are 'technically' mature students, but the line is drawn at 21 apparantly, and most of them are at least 10 years younger than me.
It is rather amusing watching the hormones flying though, you could almost smell the surging testosterone!

Sorry PeachyClairHasBadHair, I was being a bit pedantic - to me a sect is something a bit 'dodgy' but looked it up and saw that sect was defined as being an offshoot of a religion. In India, jainism is lumped together as part of hinduism but I think it is very different from all other bits of hinduism and a religion in its own right rather than an offshoot of another religion.

My partner is a mature student (age 35) & is resitting his second year again after having already re sat his first year. I'm 32 wks pregnant now with our first child & having to carry on working full time in my teaching job, until wk 37. He is going out late most nights enjoying his student life, whilst `i'm stuck here not able to sleep thinking why am I letting him get away with this? has anyone been in a similar situation?, I'm so pissed off with him, I'm turning in to an old nag.
