and I see a man come out of a shop with a car seat (baby in it obviously) opens the back door puts it in shuts the door gets in the car and drives off

guess what he didn't do

My car beeps if you don't use the front seat belt. Would be good if car manufacturers did the same in the back since it sounds like lots of us forget.

More precisely, we got in a hire car, and they'd suppied us a toddler seat with 5pt harness. We blithely strapped in Dd and drove off - then turned around and realsied that the seat itself wasn't attached to anything! They;d obviously left it up to us to actually fit the seat- but it looked so well placed we didn;t notice!
