Last week I'd have said we'd cracked the toilet training. She was doing brilliantly and going all by herself for both poos and wees, washing her hands, wiping her bum the lot. In the last week she has:

  • taken her nighttime nappy off, crapped in bed then smeared it all over her cot
  • pissed all over the sofa three times incurring major cushion and cover wash each time
  • pissed all over the floor in the toilet instead of actually doing it in the toilet
  • taken nighttime nappy off and taken her poo out and put it on a shelf "so everyone could see it"
  • and today the best of all, crapped on the guitar, not just the body of it, but in the hole, all over the strings and more smearing

She'll be 3 in September, what the heck is going on?

I am so sorry you are having such a rotten time but this is one of the funniest (in a wry, oh no sort of way) threads I have read for a long time

PMSL - SORRY - you poor thing
My dd was completely toilet trained for about 6 weeks and then went totally backwards - weeing everywhere - apparrntly its really common.
Bribery worked a treat with us - we invented the 'toilet fairy' everytime she went to the toilet like a big girl th toilet fairy came - she would hide a very small treat somewhere in the lounge ( like one smartie or one chocolate raisin ) She loved looking for it, it became a sort of game. Took a while to wean her off this - one day postman pat sent her a letter saying that now she was a big girl the toilet fairy would only come when she had a poo, and then after a while another letter arrived stating she had to go and help the little girl down the road who was still a baby and wearing nappies - not like Jas who is a big girl now, big girls didnt need the toilet fairy blah blah
Bu which time she was well into it and has never looked back.
I know a lot of you will frown at this, but for us it worked a treat !

To try to be more helpful, do you think it could be a natural exploration type of thing? Poo is very interesting and we do encouarge them to squish around with other materials such as playdough and paint.

So it is not just me then who has got a potty trainee who is going backwards. This week he has crapped on my Mums drive, the lawn, in his bed, in the bath but the worst one was on the hottest day last week he escaped out of the front door and crapped on the pavement outside the house, he was naked at the time too due to heat. I was horrified! Think the heat has got something to do with it, his system seems a bit out of whack.

Oooh well, you gotta laugh . She must take after her father, he's always going into too much detail about his latest offering to the toilet god!

Forgot to add, Chubbleigh I shall be tittering in bed tonight at the thought of your wee boy escaping out the house starkers to crap on the pavement!!! Marvellous.

Note to self - start another thread entitled "worst place your offpring has crapped/widdled"

Someone did one of those threads a few weeks ago, it was hilarious, your guitar poo would have been a good one for that. My sisters dh is into his guitars, if his dd ever does that I think she could well find herself put up for adoption.

Do you know I am sick of cleaning up wee and poo, it dominates my life, I have had all the same as you, weeing on sofa, weeing on floor, taking off nappies in bed. I am so looking forward to this stage being over. Hope things go better next week.
