Last week I'd have said we'd cracked the toilet training. She was doing brilliantly and going all by herself for both poos and wees, washing her hands, wiping her bum the lot. In the last week she has:

  • taken her nighttime nappy off, crapped in bed then smeared it all over her cot
  • pissed all over the sofa three times incurring major cushion and cover wash each time
  • pissed all over the floor in the toilet instead of actually doing it in the toilet
  • taken nighttime nappy off and taken her poo out and put it on a shelf "so everyone could see it"
  • and today the best of all, crapped on the guitar, not just the body of it, but in the hole, all over the strings and more smearing

She'll be 3 in September, what the heck is going on?

PMSL at putting the shit on the shelf though!

Greensleeves · 24/07/2006 19:21

Oh, that's made my day Bloody hilarious.

VoluptuaGoodshag · 24/07/2006 19:21

He does. He was out in the garden trying to shake bits of poo out whilst our neighbours were enjoying their after dinner cuppa and asking "oh I didn't know you played" He couldn't really start to explain

My DS smeared shit all over his cot one time and I mean all over and I got DH to take it outside and burn it because I couldn't deal with it!

leander · 24/07/2006 19:25

sorry not very helpful but PMSL at this thread especially the guitar.

VoluptuaGoodshag · 24/07/2006 19:46

has it really gone deep into the strings, you might have to restring it! lots of babywipes to wipe it too but i suppose you've tried that !!

Greensleeves · 24/07/2006 19:49

Well, have you got one of those dirt devil mini-hoovers? You can get right inside the body of the guitar with one of those, and give it a good clear-out. It shouldn't affect the sound too much anyway, as long as it didn't get on the strings.

VoluptuaGoodshag · 24/07/2006 19:49

The strings are in the bin! I thnk I need advice on why she has suddenly started crapping and pissing everywhere but the loo after being soooo good for soooo long

sorry (worrying about the guitar - oops)

VoluptuaGoodshag · 24/07/2006 19:50

Good point re the hoover though Greensleeves. Shall try that once it's erm dried up a bit!!!

SenoraPostrophe · 24/07/2006 19:51

oh bless her. it does look a bit like a potty.

I'd take the strings off, wipe them (the the guitar obv) and then put them back. your dh may have some string cleaner lying around but if not baby wipes will do. once it's dry you'll never know (I've cleaned shit off a few things, me!)

Xena · 24/07/2006 19:58

Sorry no advice rotfl

moreteaanyone · 24/07/2006 20:00

My dd2 was just the same. We had completely toilet trained her, or so we thought. After a few weeks of really worrying about how to solve the problem we discovered that she can't/shouldn't drink orange juice or any descrpition. She completely loses all control and pee will flood from her for at least 2 hours.

we have tested our hypothesis and it's true orange juice caused her problem.

Pierre · 24/07/2006 20:03

pmsl at this thread.

throckenholt · 24/07/2006 20:10

bribery maybe - to get her to do it in the right place (rather than in the guitar ). One dolly mixture per success worked well for us.

wrinklytum · 24/07/2006 20:44

ROFL at this one.Cheered me up no end it did.Could she come to mine and crap on DPs guitars for me?We have four in our bedroom and Im bloody peed off with tripping over the damn things.(Not much storage space since arrival of latest addition)We have loads of spare strings you could have !!!!!!!!!!!

moondog · 24/07/2006 20:46

lmao
Put to dry in the sun then you can pick/knock the shit off.

teabelly · 25/07/2006 13:52

Is it maybe attention seeking? What kind of reaction is she getting - even a telling off/smack is still attention in a childs mind. Maybe she did it the first time by accident, it got her attention and now she's carrying on. I know it's hard but when she does it have you tried not saying anything at all, just clearing up as fast as possible and then ignoring her (as in not speaking/playing with her) for a while afterwards. But then when she does it on the toilet heap massive praise and cheers, and then do something she enjoys/likes afterwards. At the end of the day all kids love/crave attention and praise...?

VoluptuaGoodshag · 29/07/2006 21:00

Not sure - trying to figure out if anything has changed recently to make her think she's not getting any attention. Since the incident she has been pretty good although has thrown a couple of wobblies when I've sat her on the toilet but she has done her business in the end if I've just been cheery and encouraging. Tis 5 days later and there is no smell from the guitar
