He's slept for four hours this morning in a wet and dirty nappy (only discovered it was dirty when I got him up!), and poor wee soul, his bottom is really sore and the skin is broken Sad. He is perfectly happy and content in himself, amazingly - I have left his bottom uncovered to air dry just now - but what should I put on it?

Oooh I feel really guilty - never had a baby with nappy rash before Sad

thanks everyone - ds's bum is looking a lot better today (still sore but much better). I shall make sure all my RL friends know about it!

Great. Happy bottom, happy DS, happy Miaou Smile

I agree with using Sudocrem, but make sure that his bottom is completely dry first and pat on gently & gengly rub in. Sudocream acts as a barrier & if ds is wet the cream will trap the water against the skin. Keep a nappy off as long as you can.

Our DS is allergic to sudocrem (awkward little b*gger) so the HV gave us a prescription for Aqueous cream. It's like E45 type cream. Cleared up his nappy rash and his baby eczema outbreak a treat.

discovered another cream that works miracles - pawpaw ointment.. not sure if you can get it in the UK but my two had horrid bums - combination of huggies wipes and lots of pooey bums ...... pawpaw ointment cleared them up like nothing on this earth.
