let's share some ideas of make do and mend entertainment.

I used to love a book called Something to Do when I was little. It was divided into months of the year and had a bit of poetry and ideas for things to make and play that month, which didn't cost much if anything.

My dad used to make cotton reel engines..and I loved it when he did, I haven't made one for years but now I feel quite inspired

Winnie - where I come from they were called "Mappy Moos" I would bet that's not a universal name though

Zippitippitoes, I had that 'Something to do' book as well and really loved it when I was about 9 or 10. Looking back it seems so innocent compared to the stuff kids are into now!

I wrote a concrete mixer song for ds yesterday, there was a gap in the market for one. He loves it - it cost nothing and he has made up his own movements for it.

I'll use it in my music classes - and thus it will actually make money.

Section on musical instruments has rice maracas and a guitar made from a shoebox with rubber bands.
