Is this common practice for some people, or just plain wrong? Nappy related....

I have a friend who I don't see often, to visit with her 12 week old DS. Whilst she was with me, her DS had a wet nappy and she changed him. She took off his nappy, and said "Oh good, no poo so I don't need to wipe him." Shock

I always wipe my DS with a baby wipe when changing a wet nappy. Doesn't everyone??

With regards to the nappy rash, neither of mine had it very often so hardly used barrier creams. No harm done!

Flogging - it certainly doesn't happen in the few hours that a nappy is on. Especially as nappies all have a stay-dry wicking layer next to the skin so that urine is drawn away and kept in the body of the nappy. Try the test! Honestly it'll be fine.

DS's bum would smell if I didn't wipe after wees. Maybe I just have a really stinky toddler Confused
