So, I know it is still January, but I have a TMA due next week, and though I have known in my head what I need to write, I have spent the whole bloody day fighting with Word. Angry

2k words need to be pretty much done before my tutorial tomorrow night.

Why do I do this to myself. (rhetorical, not looking for any answers Blush

I got a brilliant mark for my last TMA, and now am scared I can't match it.

Lovely DH is lighting the fire, DCs are chatting nicely before bed, and it is almost Wine o'clock.

Anyone joining me?

Oh well done winny - hope you get on OK today and feel better soon.

craftynclothy · 24/02/2012 20:06

Hope you've got on/getting on ok winny.

I need to do my assignment this weekend. Hoping dh will entertain kids out of the house. I might be mad as I've also signed up for a 10 week short course that I think might be at a far too advanced level for me (fgs I don't even understand the instructions for what to do before starting!)

Prolesworth · 25/02/2012 16:56

I registered for another OU course last night Confused

I received an email from them the other day saying that I qualify for the transitional fee arrangement whereby I could continue studying at the existing fee level. I think this might be a mistake though because I have graduated and am not currently studying. Anyway, thought I'd reserve a place on a course and link it to a qualification just in case it does turn out that I can do more courses without paying the new, massive fees.

I got that e-mail too Prolesworth but not sure what to do with it :S

chipmunksex · 25/02/2012 20:33

Sounds like it might be right; from the OU Website "We?re putting in place transitional arrangements that mean that if you?re a current student with us your fees will not be affected by the government changes so long as you are studying towards an undergraduate OU qualification, for example:

A Certificate
Diploma
or a Degree

To be eligible, and remain eligible, for these transitional arrangements you must also meet the following important date criteria:

you will start a module that counts towards your qualification between 1 September 2012 and 31 August 2013

AND

you have completed a module which is linked to your qualification and began between 1 September 2010 and 31 August 2011 OR you?re studying a module linked to your qualification that starts between 1 September 2011 and 31 August 2012

If you meet these criteria your fees will follow the existing pricing structure and you?ll have access to the same financial support options, so long as you continue to study each year until you achieve your qualification."

Get 'em while they're hot folks

I have to hand in TMA04 (not started yet) for my 19th century lit course on Tuesday and I'm ILL

Can't have extension.

Glands are all up and it hurts to raise arms to type FFS. Plus feel so crappy and unable to concentrate due to feeling nauseous.

Debating what to do, attempt it or chalk it down as a failure.

chipmunksex · 26/02/2012 17:21

Oh strawb you poor thing, what with the hairbrush incident as well you really aren't having a great weekend are ya?

I've always been told to hand something in, even if it's just notes or bullet points, anything is better than zero.

TrinityRhino · 26/02/2012 21:32

evening all

My name is trinityrhino and I'm crazy enough to think I can do an OU science course that officially starts on the 3rd March Grin

I've never been in this topic before and I'm so useless I had to post in chat to ask if there was an OU thread anywhere Grin

I don't know if anyone recognises me, I doubt it, but I'm a ancient mner (time-wise not age.....I'm only 34 :P) and I'm embarrassed to not know their was a student parents bit

Hope you don't mind me barging in, I'm terrified tbh

TrinityRhino · 26/02/2012 21:32

THERE not their, ugh Blush

Donki · 26/02/2012 21:50

My name is Donki, and I can procrastinate for England.

HOW DO I STOP PROCRASTINATING? Please tell me there is hope...

juneybean · 26/02/2012 22:06

Ooo hello Trinity & Donki! Welcome Grin

I've successfully procrastinated two days of my three days off ... oops.

Donki · 26/02/2012 22:20

I have just finished TMA03 - and the only reason it got done was that I was using it to procrastinate about OFSTED preparation Blush

juneybean · 27/02/2012 00:15

What course are you doing Donki?

wildstrawberryplace · 27/02/2012 11:43

Hello Donki and Trinity!

I like the fact that you've showed up on the procrastination thread before you've even started your course Trinity Smile.

What was your TMA on Donki?

craftynclothy · 27/02/2012 12:14

Hi Donki and Trinity (I remember you Smile)

Argh, am feeling stressed. Have an assignment due in on Thursday. Dh took kids out yesterday so I could do it. Have done Q1 Hmm. I've started Q2 but the question is spread over 7 pages of apparent randomness and the flicking back & forth, badly named stuff in it is causing me much confusion atm. Getting a bit more free choice on what to do for Q3 and haven't really come up with a good idea yet Blush

TrinityRhino · 27/02/2012 12:24

wildstrawberry I'm hoping its a good sign and get my arse into gear all the way through Grin

juneybean · 27/02/2012 12:32

146/1500 words so far Confused I don't know what to write :(

chipmunksex · 27/02/2012 14:29

Welcome to new procrastinators.

No OU stuff done today-dh took aphoto of dd yesterday in the front room and I had to beg him to delete it because it was such a tip Blush.

Have spent the morning very domestically and now I should get my folders out, but tea and mn has won over.Hmm

juneybean · 27/02/2012 14:50

Up to 266 ... slow going this, but I have refresh MN 50 million times Grin

craftynclothy · 27/02/2012 15:19

I've almost finished Q2

Donki · 27/02/2012 15:19

I am doing a level 1 course in Spanish. L194

wildstrawberryplace · 28/02/2012 09:54

Meh, meh and thrice meh.

Stupid essay. Stupid virus.

Pah

wildstrawberryplace · 28/02/2012 16:53

OK, well I submitted.

I have noticed a theme with my essays - it takes about two days to do a TMA by the seat of my pants in an attempt to avoid not submitting and returning a zero score.

Two days - so why the fecking feck do I seem to take about 4 weeks to get around to it, thinking I haven't got enough time? Confused

Bloody relieved actually. Really thought I would have to miss a submission.

Wine and

chipmunksex · 28/02/2012 18:33

hooray for you strawberry Wine

Do you also always think the TMA is crap and then get a good mark? That's what happens to me I just don't seem to be able to judge whether my own work is any good.Confused

wildstrawberryplace · 28/02/2012 19:19

Yeah - sometimes, but not this time it's defo shit. It's the inane ramblings of a fevered loon Grin
