Badly, very badly

What I have done is great - really good (IMO) there just isn't a lot of it

& my dad was rushed to hospital & admitted last night so today will be tricky

I hope so; it's his back - he has been on high doses of morphine for weeks & they have finally decided to do something

It's the increasing morphine that worries me (& him)

Coming off it can be really hard plus there is a real risk of an overdose

Nothing like keeping your mind on your TMA Wink

Hi Katy, sorry to hear about your dad Sad

How's the TMA going? I'm going to dip into my revision tonight, have made a plan, now it's time to start. The exam isn't until October BUT I like to start drip feeding it into my brain early.

KatyMac · 24/07/2011 12:22

Thanks - it's not great tbh

My exam is in Oct too; but I get to have a home exam (not sure if that's better or worse)

OP posts:
VJay · 24/07/2011 12:25

I nearly had a home exam 2 years ago as ds2 was just 6 weeks old and breast fed, but I managed to express early on so went and had the exam at the hotel.

There's nothing worse when you have work to do, but other stuff going on.

KatyMac · 24/07/2011 12:39

That's it exactly

I am also doing TMA this weekend - no 6. out of 7. Already had an extension until midnight tonight but have only done 386 words out of 2000 and am bored out my brain! I am just going to keep going until 11.45 and then submit whatever is done - anything is better than nothing and I really don't want to substitute at this stage.

KatyMac · 24/07/2011 18:19

How are you doing?

Any more words done?

OP posts:
gingergran · 24/07/2011 18:22

704 but sooooooooo bored! would far rather be sat outside in sunshine - it's by own fault that i have left it this late but am finding it really hard to get motivated. keep telling myself that anything is better than nothing!

KatyMac · 24/07/2011 18:26

What is it about?

Can we motivate you?

I've only just found this OU bit on Mumsnet. Hello, I'm TMAing - what courses are you doing?

gingergran · 24/07/2011 18:52

its about whether business is good or bad for children - in itself an interesting subject but the OU course materials are so badly written for this part of the course and so out of date that it is like plodding through custard. i quite like doing all the reading around the subject from newspapers etc and could happily write a whole essay about that - however I need to include the stupid theorists otherwise my tutor won't be happy. Still up to 933 words now so will just keep on going...

how are you doing katy?

KatyMac · 24/07/2011 19:03

Managing Complexity

Stupid theorists; that's why I didn't do a child degree

About halfway there I think

I'm going to have to crack on with my 4th of 6 tonight. Already had an extension but no deadline given (so, not good for a procrastinator like me) Am having a block about part of it but will just have to make some crap up and get rid of it as have another due in mid-August. That's just mean planning, I think

gingergran · 24/07/2011 19:16

that's the trouble - my tutor is really good about extending deadlines and therefore I take advantage - always leave things until the last possible moment. she even lets us submit TMAs after deadlines without extensions which is bad for a professional procrastinator like me

gingergran · 24/07/2011 19:17

should really stop posting and start writing again shouldn't i!!!
