Purleeease help me!!!
I have just managed to finish my Music assignment for my degree but there is one part still outstanding. I need to give an example of a song (pop, classical anything on a cd)which i could use in a classroom to demonstrate different musical elements. For example i have used The lion sleeps tonight as an example of pitch - (all the humba ways and oooeee'ss!!!!)which was kindly donated by my 4 yr old dd! As for the rest, im lost! I have searched my cd's and dd's but cant seem to get to grips with any examples - could anyone help? It would be much appreciated!!

dynamics is loudness and softness.

I'm presuming you need more than one piece to demonstrate these things, not just one piece for all of the bits.

bohemian rhapsody by queen would sort a few of these out. you need pieces of music that change a lot within one piece. otherwise you'll have to use two separate pieces to compare and contrast.

silence - john cage. he did a classical piece which was 4.5 mins of silence.

duration - can't see how you can do this without comparing and contrasting two pieces. if you get a song from early 60s and compare it with a piece from 90s, you'll see that 60s songs were much much much shorter.

Dynamics - Mars from Holst Planets Suite? If not Mars then one of the other planets.

For silence there are loads of songs that pause (and you count)then start agian
