Hi all,

I have a ds 20 months old and ds 2 8 weeks old. We know we want another and had originally though that we'd have one later (when the ds's are at school)- but my mum was the youngest of three with a big gap between her and her siblings and she thinksa third will get left out whatever age gap but esp with a bug one. So now I am thinking well, maybe I want the baby bit out the way, and I'd like them to be close...

So I am thinking when ds 2 is walking i should ttc again (ds 1doesn't walk yet!)....but i am not sure

anyway any experiences of three under 4 would be great to hear about and any other relevant experiences!!

It's early days, but I like to plan ahead!

I have a 7 year age gap between 3 and 4 - it's fantastic. Everything is a total breeze and I have so much time to spend with my gorgeous baby now 21 months. Previously I had 3 under 3 - equally good fun but a damn sight more hard work!

A lady at my charges school has just had her 4th baby, making 4 under 5

My aunt has recently had her third and had 3 children under 2 and 3/4! When baby was 4 months they moved house! (from england to Ireland!)

Its possible but it sounds like V hard work!

thanks everyone- there are pros and cons either way I think. but for me I am planning on going for number three when number two is walking and number one is almost out of the pushchair and nappies!! so in about 1-1/2 years time we will be ttc again.

I'd say it depends upon how strong your relationship is with dp / dh....

It's bound to be stressful and difficult with 3 under 4. Are you a solid enough unit to cope with this?

My two are 21 months apart (ds conceived when dd was 12 months old)...I'm leaving a gap between no2 and no 3. Aiming for no 3 to be born when ds is 2yrs 9 months and starting pre-school.
