Firsly, Iceland, what with the collapse of the Icelandic economy, and annoying volcanic ash clouds.
Then France, etc, as the Pound is worth so little agains the Euro (probably our own fault, but hey)

So where do we like at the moment?

MMeLint...it's a long time until Karneval...I'd have to go during Octoberfest.

You could go to Oktoberfest and stay on for the start of Karneval on 11.11. at 11.11am

There are still some pockets of Germany that accept the DM

Denmark then, or Sweden. Happiest in Europe too...

Um- well.. they have more than their fair share of alcoholism and suicide too... I think it's the long dark winters of the soul.
My friend went to university above the arctic circle, and he hated it. Doesn't put DH off though (strictly looking at southern Sweden)
