you cant do the chemical stuff [not sure what it will do to your hair] but it would leave dead headlice in your hair!

Janh · 28/07/2005 01:05

Oh, mieow!

The chemical stuff has to be combed through so I think you'll have to have your extensions out whatever you do.

BareFootAngel · 28/07/2005 01:06

rofl!

Chandra · 28/07/2005 01:08

Oh dear! sparklymieow! you always manage to surprise me

sparklymieow · 28/07/2005 01:09

Thing is its a special system because i have trichotilomania and its costs me over 1500 in total, because it covered the large patch I have pulled....... And if its removed I will pull again........

Chandra · 28/07/2005 01:09

OP posts:
Chandra · 28/07/2005 01:10

Oh no Mieow, that sound even worse... can you ring the person who did the extensions and ask?

BareFootAngel · 28/07/2005 01:10

oh hunny hire a chimp!! only kidding have the kids pick them out for 5p each??

sparklymieow · 28/07/2005 01:12

They are in London, I am due to have to it adjusted, like last month...... whoops, I did ask once what would happened if I caught nits and they said it would have to be removed, and I can't afford another 740quid to have it have it replaced........

The extentions are specially twisted in, they don't come out easily

Janh · 28/07/2005 01:15

£740???

Please tell me you are joking?

BareFootAngel · 28/07/2005 01:15

how about shaving your head? would it suit you

sparklymieow · 28/07/2005 01:17

I am not, its a special system that is put over the patch, They then pull your own hair though and attach connection, they then fill the space where you have no hair with fake hair, it toook 9 hours to do it.

Janh · 28/07/2005 01:17

Ohhhh, mieow - do you have to pay for that or does the NHS help?

sparklymieow · 28/07/2005 01:19

no the NHS refused to give me any funding I took out a loan. I was so happy when I had it done a year ago, and I have to go up every 6-8 weeks to have it put back on tightly, which cost 140pounds a time, but its worth it.

hun wish you well[scratch scratch]im off to bed take care ,[itch itch] sorry only joking talk soon ,,,,,,,xx

jabberwocky · 28/07/2005 01:22

Okay, I'm not really sure how this would work but here's my idea.

When patients get lice in their eyelashes, we are advised to first smother them in vaseline and then pluck them off with tweezers. Do you think there's any possible way that would work?

Janh · 28/07/2005 01:22

Have you actually got nits though or are you just worried that you have? No idea what it's like having extensions but could you just shampoo with tea tree and see how it goes?

BareFootAngel · 28/07/2005 01:23

lice in eyelashes!!!!!!!!!!!!!

jabberwocky · 28/07/2005 01:24

Umm, yes. I have been fortunate not to have had to do it, but I know several friends who have. Not something I'm looking forward to!

sparklymieow · 28/07/2005 01:24

LOL!!@ twezzers!! I have very dark hair!!
I think I will have to phone the hairdressers and ask them what they recommend........ I thought that putting the chemical stuff on them would make them die........
The kids had them last week, adult sized ones, when I went through their hair tonight it was all babies, and thats what I have, babies........
