If I put the chemical stuff on my hair will it ruin the extentions?? I can't do nit busting on it as it will tear the extentions out........

Well, actually they're more the "crab" variety coming from sexual contact...

Hope there's a way to sort it Mieow, I'm off to sleep

I just combed through my own hair, and found nits!! The system is on the crown of my head, and the rest of it is my own hair IYKWIM.

Sounds wise, SM. If you do use the chemicals be sure to go strictly by the directions. That stuff can be rather toxic if overused.

A friend of mine had them and finally got them out by just combing and combing. I can't remember if she used a special type of comb or not. She said they really cling to the hair shaft though.

I started combing the kids this evening without anything on the hair and because they are all babies they just came away........ I then put conditior on it and more came out........ ewwwwwww i hate the little things......

Sparklymieow, my cousin who is a GP says mayonaise works: it smothers the nits and then you comb them out. You have to leave the mayo in overnight.

Hey, similar to my vaseline idea! I like it!!!

liquid parfin works a treat! just dab it on all over your hair and watch the little bggrs crawl out! You can buy it from a hardware shop, obviouslsy have to be careful as it is flammable!

happymerryberries · 28/07/2005 10:23

Nothing is going to get rid of them without combing. Sorry! All the 'smothering' things only work in part, you have to comb them out as well, as you only have to leave one in place for it to re-infect.

Can you contact the manufactures of both the hair extensions and the not killer and find out if they are incompatable?
