Our poor child, if a ds, will be without a name if you don't help us! Okay, so I am not due for another 7+ months but we'd like a Welsh boys name and any suggestions would be gratefully received.

Our surname has lots of "L"s and "O"s in it if that helps.

Bryn or Aled.

Iestyn or Celyn?

Ieuan
Huw (I don't know why I didn't call ds Huw!)
Osian might be becoming too popular now, perhaps?
Rhys (if pronounced correctly)
Rhun
Gwern
Iolo
Tudur
Emyr is very nice, imo
Dion is quite unusual. I only know one.

My son's second name is Ioan (after Ioan Gryffydd)

Don't think Caradog has been mentioned, a name full of character.
Caradog Holloway.
I've given quite 'american' first names with completely welsh names to my two and wish I'd gone totally welsh, but there you are.
btw I've fancied a Gethin for ages!
Let us know what you've gone for.

Hi, just come accross this thread while searching for a name for my next one due in 5 weeks (a boy). We're thinking about Kai, but don't know if it should be spelt Cai or Kai. Our DD is called Seren, and I love her name and want to make sure we wpell the next one correctly - any advice?

Takver · 14/04/2009 22:00

You need this link
It spells the name Cai (in fact, come to think of it, has to be Cai as no K in Welsh . ..)

I don't think anyone's suggested Rhodri yet, have they?
