Does anyone have any dubious connections with famous people.. for eg my best friend at school once stroked Eric Claptons dog and another friend of mine ,during her nursing training, tested Dick Emerys urine. I used to be treated by an osteopath who later treated Emma Bs (spice girl) mum.

I am sure I could come up with a few equally dubious ones - Hughie Green peered into my pram and told my mother what a lovely baby I was! Bill Oddie attended a parents evening when I was a teacher but as I didnt teach his daughter I could only watch from afar! My best claim, though, is that I slept with someone off the t.v., a well-known celeb and caught an STD - for obvious reasons I cannot name him!

Binza · 30/06/2001 12:01

I was interviewed by the now Lady Archer to be a nanny for her children. Just think I could've found myself in court this week! I also went out with the heir to a very famous wine family - the life I could be living now.

Rhiannon · 30/06/2001 14:45

My Dad used to police Buckingham Palace in the 50's and his claim to fame is that he taught Prince Charles to ride a bike!

Lizzer · 30/06/2001 19:52

Got two - My friends Mum's friend used to go out with Emlyn Hughes years ago. AND while working as a waitress I served non other than Alvin Stardust and his family!!!

Candy · 30/06/2001 20:12

lol - I love this link! I have two seriously dubious claims - the first is that I stroked Goldie the Blue Peter dog but failed to stroke Simon Groom. The second is that I was on Playschool (through the arched window I think!) and was given Humpty Dumpty's autograph - and now I've proved how sad I am I'll go!

Boo321 · 30/06/2001 21:21

Pj ,can't you even give us the tiniest clue? It wasn't one of the doctors off ER was it.!!

Jbr · 01/07/2001 18:15

Tara Palmer-Tomkinson (very skinny with droopy boobs) was in the lift in Harvey Nichols with my son and I the other day, my sister was engaged to Bryan Ferry's nephew, my mum used to date Alex Ferguson, the football manager when she was a teenager, I have shook hands and met the Queen and Prince Charles at a conference, met Richard Branson at an investment conference and seen Paul Gascoigne pissed push his (ex)wife into a lift at the Hyde Park Hotel in London the day before he beat her up. Whilst travelling from London to Edinburgh recently Hearsay (Popstars) were in the lounge beside us being very loud and very vulgar. The most dubious one being pushing Bernie Winters (of Snorbitz the dog fame) into a swimming pool in Palma Nova when I was about 10!

Chelle · 02/07/2001 04:04

OK....here goes (but it's unlikely you'll know any of these, as they are Australian celebs!). I went to school with Michael Bevan (Australian cricketer) and with Clodagh Crowe who is a TV presenter. I went to uni (and was good friends with) Shane Porteous' daughter. Shane Porteous was Dr Terrence Elliott in Aussie soapy A Country Practice.

Best I can muster is that last year we had a film starring Michael Caine shot partly at our house (not yet released). He was phenomenally nice, especially to our small son.

Cam · 02/07/2001 10:22

Lizzer
I also served Alvin Stardust when I was a waitress! This was in Brighton, where were you? We were all very immature and kept singing "my coo ca choo" just in his hearing! Also served Terence Stamp at the same restaurant. He is so gorgeous even now.

Oh, nearly forgot! Saw Roland Rivron and film crew in the Club Lounge on Calais to Dover ferry last week (Sunday 24 June) filming for Holiday programme. Maybe you'll see me on the telly - I'm the one drinking champagne and eating sushi!

Bells1 · 02/07/2001 10:39

SueW, the location manager just knocked on our door. It was all slightly surreal as I remember we were sitting in the kitchen having a late lunch with my husband's boxer shorts drying all over the place and all of a sudden this woman was there offering us £1,500 a day to film a feature film in our living room. She has since come back with another potential film so fingers crossed!. Apparently there is a British film location register which you are well advised to log your details on as it is the first port of call for many location managers.

Bron, who is Fizz Tweenie??
I occasionally see"Adam" from Cold Feet walking his dog in the park and although under normal circumstances I would at least be on smiling terms with most dog walkers there I just put my head down and look completely the other way. Jenny Agutter also walks her dog there too, so I suppose my claim to fame could be that my dog has sniffed Jenny Agutters dog bum!!!

I wiped poor old Princess Beatrice's bottom once. She was only 6 or so and had an upset tummy. I don't know where the nanny had got to or her mother come to think of it... Some claim to fame!

Tigermoth · 02/07/2001 16:26

Lysette Anthony (spelling?) the actress, came to view our house in Greenwich when it was on the market. She didn't choose it but we had a long chat.

Our house was in a small, very friendly - some would say rather incestuous street. Lysette did not buy the property but moved into some other house nearby.

A few weeks ago our local paper reported that Lysette Anthony and other actors were filming a new soap in and around the area based on some fictional characters living in a small, very friendly - some would say rather incestuous street.....

Jbr · 02/07/2001 18:12

Bron I had better not tell my little boy you met a Tweenie, and Fizz as well. His favourite!!

Jbr · 02/07/2001 18:13

Bron I had better not tell my little boy you met a relative of a Tweenie, and Fizz as well. His favourite!!

Rhiannon · 02/07/2001 19:15

Bells1, please I need £1500 a day. How do I get on to this film register, do you have a tel. no?

Bells1 · 03/07/2001 06:55

Rhiannon, we're not actually on the Register. Apparently you have to contact the British Film Comission (0207 224 5000) who have all the details. It is well worth doing I think as they need all sorts of properties - not just grand or unusual ones.

Pj · 03/07/2001 10:24

Ok, a clue - but I do have to be careful! He was/is a childrens t.v. presenter (dont like to think of my children watching him though), fair hair,,, thats all I can say!
