A few of us struggle to know what the unthinkable's are - come and share so we can avoid messing up!!

What are the topics you shouldn't post about ie. they've been done to death and cause outrage or get you accused of being a troll.

Help us less experienced out there please!!

I have found, during my limited time as a member, the subject that causes the most arguments is earpiercing in small children.

eggontoast · 01/02/2010 09:42

I have read the site rules/advice, but its those between the lines that I am trying to become accustomed to.

Pagwatch - I am so sorry that you didn't quite understand the point I was making, perhaps I need to rephrase it in words that you will understand.

GetOrfMoiLand · 01/02/2010 09:44

A quick at pag so she knows I am only arseing about.

GetOrfMoiLand · 01/02/2010 09:44

Oh god is that second post with a going to be misconstrued as being just as patronising as the first.

Oh christ can't do this passive agressive stance is too stressful

pagwatch · 01/02/2010 09:46

Fatbob · 01/02/2010 09:48

all men are scum

Bella32 · 01/02/2010 09:48

Pagwatch - I'm sorry that you feel that way, although clearly your own intellectual failings may go some way to explaining your reaction

GetOrfMoiLand · 01/02/2010 09:49

I think I will just stick to straight aggression and tell people who get on my tits to fuck off. far simpler that way

GetOrfMoiLand · 01/02/2010 09:49

Oh GOD why do smileys in perfectly innocent contexts now look sinister and trouble making?

Bella32 · 01/02/2010 09:50

I think Amanda's looking a bit lardy Daily Mail Link

GetOrfMoiLand · 01/02/2010 09:50
Poledra · 01/02/2010 09:50

Fuck orf, shurely, GOML?

MumGoneCrazy · 01/02/2010 09:53

If you post an AIBU thread expect someone to come along and tell you are, dont get arsey about it, not everyone will have the same view and take on the situation

Bella32 · 01/02/2010 09:54

Poledra - the correct spelling os O F F

Why don't you try netmums?

Bella32 · 01/02/2010 09:54

GetOrfMoiLand · 01/02/2010 09:56

Lol at poledra and Bella.

Poledra - you sound pissed in that post

princessmel · 01/02/2010 09:57

Agree with Eleanoras first post.

Poledra · 01/02/2010 09:58

Has been one of those weekends, GetOrf - birthday party for 26 4 and 6 yos yesterday, so have been drinking constantly ever since (or should that be Gin?)

StarExpat · 01/02/2010 09:58

I'm going to get beaten with a big stick, I'm sure, but why can't people post a thread about a thread? (disclaimer I've never done it!)
If a thread makes you think about something and you want to go off on a tangent in conversation but don't want to totally take over their thread with what you want to talk about, surely it's ok to just create another thread rather than take over the OP's thread with where you want to go in conversation?

GetOrfMoiLand · 01/02/2010 10:00

26 4 and 6 year olds

Thank god my days of hosting parties like that are over. Mind you I can't be sure that having 6 shtieking 14 year olds at Pizza Express on birthdays in any better actually.

Bella32 · 01/02/2010 10:06

StarExpat - sometimes thread do create tangents and new threads arise out of them. A thread about a thread is more about starting a thread discussing the events of the other thread, iyswim. So if I now went off and had a go on AIBU about how awful it is to talk about unwritten rules on MN, that would be a bit like bitching behind everyone's back.

Whereas, if I start a thread 'Is Poledra's alcoholism affecting her spelling?' that would be okay

posieparker · 01/02/2010 10:08

Some precious posters think they have a monopoly on posting etiquette!!

Bitchy stuff annoys me, I prefer blatant insults.

Don't post your household income if it's about £30k.

Don't talk about your 'terrible' life with a Nanny who won't clean or a cleaner that won't Nanny.

Best to be married, working part time, good career without a huge income, smallish car, two children state educated....and in your thirties!!
