sorry but I laughed. I have an evil cat who pisses everywhere but has never pissed in a cooking implement. Try the bicarb option. And leave to air outside too.

displayuntiltwelfthnight · 29/12/2009 22:11

Sorry but I wouldn't even be asking the question, that cooker would be in the bin faster than you could swing a cat

WilfSell · 29/12/2009 22:12

Har har har.

I would just chuck in some cat litter now and be done with it.

Divatheshopaholic · 29/12/2009 22:20

thats so gross, i just buy new one tbh.

shockers · 29/12/2009 22:23

Contact the manufacturers and ask for a new insert, assuming that yours is like mine and has a seperate one.

MmeLindt · 29/12/2009 22:27

I would bin it too (cooker not cat)

MamaG · 29/12/2009 22:28

HohohoBumperlicious · 29/12/2009 22:43

Nah don't bin it. Do the bicarb thing, it'll be fine.

HellBent · 29/12/2009 22:47

I'm with the bin both crowd, sorry!

For crying out loud throw the bloody thing away. Slow cookers cost about £30. I could not go on tasting every casserole I make in the future in manner of Masterchef judge trying to detect a soucon of cats piss.

Kick the cat upo the arse as well. Could not cope with a venegeful anti-onion pissing cat.

GetOrfMoiLand · 29/12/2009 22:54

Bicarb? Bloody hell it's bicarb not industrial strength cleaner.

Not coming round your house for dinner to be served up Coq au Ammonia

dearprudence · 29/12/2009 22:54

No, holidaywonk it is not just piss. It is cat's piss.

whomovedmychocolate · 29/12/2009 23:05

Look it probably is not in the insert bit, you've probably got bits of urine splattered round the handles etc. If you have used bleach or anything detergenty you will have just attenuated the smell because the pheromones in the cat wee react to them.

What you need to do is either make a paste of bicarb of soda, paint it all over the thing (with not too much water obviously if you can't immerse it) then wait for it to dry and brush it off (or you can vac it off and then just wipe the remaining away).

And you lot are very silly.

Culinary disasters: kitchen burned down; corkscrew broke; no chocolate in cupboard; live mice in food served at dinner party.

not

small liquid spill in cooking pot.

We put bloodied meat into these things, that's got much nastier stuff in than cat piss.

GetOrfMoiLand · 29/12/2009 23:09

I love the way you have equated lack of corkscrew and choc as a disaster in same league as whole kitchen burning down

Screw paste of bicarb. Throw. The. Pot. Away.

Yet you folks also get all high and mighty on the theme of tumble driers. Surely bladders are very eco-friendly, think of the first condoms ladies

Shiney that's appalling. Don't you know if you leave them with a glass on top for 24 hours the spider suffocates you murderer
