Step DS1 - 'Bean' - Due to his odd shaped head
Step DS2 - 'Oscar' - I have no idea
DD - 'Trumpet' - A nod to her love of breaking wind in a comedy style in the early weeks

It's been one of those days!

'Punky' - short for 'Pumpkin Pie' No idea where it came from. Also, 'Schmoodle' - variation on 'Punky Doodle'

I know, we're strange here.

suzyj · 04/06/2003 18:53

dd is just 'monkey', which I've heard lots of parents calling their little ones. It's so apt: prehensile toes, cheeky grins, disasterously messing eating, clingy cuddling...

Although, 'alfred hitchcock' might be better at the moment as she has taken to jutting her bottom jaw right forward and curling down her lower lip which makes her big soft cheeks even bigger. She looks just like him in profile and then she spoils the illusion by letting out a great gob of dribble, which I don't think he tended to do.

MABS · 04/06/2003 18:55

Willy wiggles......poor old ds eh?

wickedstepmother · 04/06/2003 18:59

Suzyj - DD (10mo) also gets that jowly hitchcock look about her, usually when she's concentrating on something

funny innit? Yeah it is most obvious when she's playing intently with something. I giggle at how funny she looks and she turns her head to look at the source of the noise and grins back, with no idea why I'm laughing but keen to join in anyway.

It's a mental picture I keep in my head to get me through her 3am-screaming-for-no-reason blues, like a version of counting to ten before you explode. Can't say it always works but my dh prefers it to door slamming which used to be my way of coping!

suzyj · 04/06/2003 19:08

where's here, tinyfeet?

DS1 is Sedge and DS2 is Louberry.
I have no idea how DH came up with these but they seem to have stuck and DS1 even calls his little bruv by his petname!

WedgiesMum · 04/06/2003 20:59

DS is spud or spuddy-dud - can't remember why..

DD is Birdie or Bird and she now thinks that it is her name and if you ask her what her name is she ALWAYS says 'Birdie' - ooops! think we may have over played that one......

GillW · 04/06/2003 22:14

ds when he was tiny was "piglet" - he was small, pink and ate a lot!

judetheobscure · 04/06/2003 22:18

ds1 - malarkey
ds2 - tommy trouble
ds3 - blue-eyed boy / bilbo (baggins) / bottomley potts

DD is bunny. No idea how it started but we now call her that more than her real name, and so do nursery. She answers to both (well, she looks round)

Ghosty · 05/06/2003 09:28

My DS has lots ... in actual fact his real name sounds a bit like a pet name ...
His pet names include ... Mr Moon ... Fat Boy Fat (when he was a baby and couldn't understand ... not now of course) ... Tiddly Pops ... Tiddly Pom Pom Pops ... Sugar Munchkin Pie ... Munchkin ... Munch ... The Bear ...
Basically anything that comes in my head at the time!!!
