I find it impossible to give people space, M, especially people I love and care about.

Even when they tell me to leave them to sort their heads out and deal with the myriad of emotions, I feel I want to be right there, doing my Claire Raynor bit [ do you remember her, lovey?]

What can you do, M?

You'll just have to respect his wishes I guess, but I know if it was G I'd be making him feel really bad for not wanting his lovely old mammy there to soothe his brow.

I'm very good at emotional blackmail.

hello my friend ,i feel exactly the same as you ,i want to be with him to give him my love and support, but i have had a few crafty text messages to my lovely gs this afternoon and he is going to let me know how his dad is each day, without ds knowing ! but my instinct is to want to go to him and just help him through this.Well my dd has just flown off to spain for 4 days and at the airport both my gd,s were in floods of tears at their mum going !!! she will be back on sat but they are ok now.thankyou for message. going out for dinner at 6 with family and the girls ,but wil try and get back on later.Tnog i have missed you.

CyberCinders · 10/11/2009 17:36

sorry mummylin

twas a dumb idea of mine

but my head is full of dumb ideas at the mo

well till later

mummylin2495 · 10/11/2009 21:34

no it wasnt a dumb idea xcup,it was a good one but one he wouldnt accept.i dont know how i am going to stay away ,but i have to give him the space he needs even though its so hard to do .he is asking for a week to do what he needs to do.At least gs seems to be coping ok and he is gonna act as my spy !

mummylin2495 · 10/11/2009 21:39

Tnog ,its just that i hate to think of him being so sad with no-one to talk to.It makes me feel so sad to se him like it.He has been through this before years ago when she left him before and he was so happy when they got back together and finally married. His world at the moment feels shattered.especially when he had no idea it was coming ,they hadnt even been on bad terms ,no rows ,nothing. Its a bolt out of the blue for him and he is heartbroken

sparklesandwine · 11/11/2009 11:54

I can't imagine how you must all be feeling M but i agree that you must stay away as he has asked or it could end up causing un-nesessary conflict between you

where is wotz? she could give you some tips

I am having a tough time with my dc at the moment and its getting me down, but reading your posts makes me think of how much they will always need me....and i them....i feel i must try to be more positive...

my "spy" came and picked me up from the hairdressers ,so i could cook him a breakfast !he is such a lovely boy ,i am so lucky to have him as a gs.anyway,he said that ds is eating and just needs time on his own, which he had already told me.gs said that he hasnt spoken to his mother this week and is not too worried she has gone because he is old enough to look after himself now apart from cooking and washing !!! i will just have to wait until ds is feeling more up to seeing anyone.Patience isnt my stongest virtue i have to admit.

isnowsoonenough · 11/11/2009 18:19

Cries at seeing all the lovelies here when I've been off for a while..... I can do tips, no need to name change back to wotz. I have been away on some missions. Not sure if I could come back as me as I de-reg'd. Oh well - just lovely to see you all. I have been in London for a few days. I need wine, I need to cook and then I will hopefully stay awake and pop back later (turns screen away from DH and lurks at thread).

isnowsoonenough · 11/11/2009 18:26

Thows a ra-ra skirt on bed to change into later, avoids creeky floorboard on way out!

mummylin2495 · 11/11/2009 18:27

welcome back to the fold ,you have been sorely missed !

mummylin2495 · 11/11/2009 18:29

i am presuming you have been on a top secret mission >>

isnowsoonenough · 11/11/2009 18:32

Don't you'll get me crying and I don't even have PMT!
So sorry to hear your news. Such a shame. My horrid BIL's mother died last week from cancer and my sis is distraught as they were so close. Things just happen don't they? It's was expected but sudden all the same. Trying to ring sis tonight to speak to her.

Anyway on the upside... got through recession... still have own teeth, no fatter or thinner!

mummylin2495 · 11/11/2009 18:34

oh dear ,thats a shame about your sisters mum in law. we too have managed so far to get through without too much damage but we have tried to be a bit more careful with money than normal ,whilst not going without things.

mummylin2495 · 11/11/2009 18:36

have you noticed that we had anither friend who popped in a couple of days ago,it was so nice to se her and im sure she too will be pleased to see you.Talcy now is back online too which is great

isnowsoonenough · 11/11/2009 18:37

Bet you still manage to dye your hair properly and have not resorted to using the homegrown beetroot die yet then? . I did actually do the MN cut and had to lie to my hairdresser who'd recently cut it (or rather mad me look human again) I was so embarrassed to tell the truth.

mummylin2495 · 11/11/2009 18:39

didnt your cut turn out well then ,i watched the you tube vid and thought it looked so easy.No havent resorted to betroot colour yet

isnowsoonenough · 11/11/2009 18:39

Yes I did, it is so nice to see almost everyone. Catch up later hopefully even if it is a quick one before I log off! (sounds rude).

mummylin2495 · 11/11/2009 18:41

but i have delayed putting my colour on till another two weeks or more

isnowsoonenough · 11/11/2009 18:41

Actually it was OK, one side/layers were slightly longer. Just needed a good sorting out. Looks much better now though.

mummylin2495 · 11/11/2009 18:44
