Is it just me or do others wish they didn't have to scroll all the way down to the bottom of the thread to add a comment. I don't know if having broadband makes it easier but on the PC I use it can take ages for the thread to open up and for me to be able to scroll down to the comments box. It works the same for when I want to add a new conversation into a topic as if it is in the Other topics it takes ages before I can get down to the create a new conversation.

I thought I would see if anyone else thought the same thing before I asked Tech if they could maybe change it. If it's just me then I'll let it be but if it's not I'll ask tech to see if they can do something about it.

Well now we get a fab newsletter, an on-line forum, the Doula UK website has really taken off, many many more hits and the content is quite good. I think DUK has changed a great deal in 1 year actually.

Ppuce, perhaps I might join again when I need to start looking for more work.

For you Mac airport experts, how come I only have 2 green lights at the bottom of my screen, DH has 4 and DD and DS have 3 or 4, I only ever have 2 and seem to lose my lights every so often for a few seconds. Do you think it could be a duff airport card?

Hee hee, it's easy when you know how!!

willow2 · 24/05/2003 23:10

Isn't Quark some low fat cheese type thing?

pupuce · 25/05/2003 18:24

Alibubble - It's down to the quality of the reception.... either move the airport or move your computer.... maybe just a tad....

Hahaha Willow

alibubbles · 25/05/2003 20:47

We don't actually have an airport base station, all have airport cards as they were airport ready.

DH's computer is the one we have to turn on first, all we do is click on airport, then software base station, then start, remote access has clicked in automatically on his computer and it's ready. I then just click on airport on to start mine and I am on instantly.

I am not particularly competent with the system so any help is appreciated!

Just talked terminology with my husband: OS 10.2 is Jaguar. The stable one. The lovely lovely thing we're running now. Pupuce, I love you so much more now.

Alibubbles, my iBook does that, too. Ron says it's in the receiver which is banded around the iBook and I find it's directional.. ie, I point one way and no signal, another and full reception. My iBook has been banged about to no end. One of its main functions is as a portable DVD player for my sons on long trips... it has had it's share of spills and bangs.

Willow2, obviously Apple is so thoughtful as to provide an app to make the cheese that needs to go with the fruit. I'm hoping they'll come up with "Walnut" next.

And, any Blues Clues fans out there? Here's a website (with a couple of iMovies):
Steve Burns's website

pupuce · 25/05/2003 21:05

JJ - why do you love me now???
And yes Ali.... that's what I meant about the airport... try to move your Imac....

JJ · 25/05/2003 21:37

Pupuce, I get very emotional over Macintosh products. I guess my gut reaction is to love anyone who uses them. Perhaps it's the flailing emotion so typical of one obsessed...

and, I hope, you know that it wasn't that I didn't love you before.

alibubbles · 25/05/2003 21:37

Pupuce, hope you didn't think I was being condescending, just thick okay!

DS says he thinks it's cool that he can be on the trampoline down the garden and still be online, he says he's doing revision...yeah right.

Just as well he is off to Justin Craig (revison school) tomorrow, cruel mother knows he won't revise so has booked him in for all of half term 9-5.

I have the whole week to myself, DD is also going to maths school and DH is going big boat sailing, bliss!

Willow2 - tee hee! Yes, I think it is - but it's also a standard page layout software for publishing (YAWN yawn yawn! )
