Can I suggest

if you are unfulfilled being a SAHM, get a job (then see how unfulfilled you truly feel )

if you are unfulfilled working, try and find time for a hobby or sport or try to go part-time, stop working

if all else fails buy a rabbit

.. there, that's sorted

Yes, its a practiced talent that i have developed since joining MN, so far i havent been beaten.

dropinthe · 20/05/2005 11:21

No,am still pondering your comment Donbean-you don't owe anyone anything on here except perhaps a degree of respect so I wouldn't worry if your humour offends!

Mud · 20/05/2005 11:23

don't personally mind if people don't get the joke, I just worry about them rather than me

self-obsessed, moi?

I never have offended any one, well ive never got any comments to say that i have but some times i post with my eyes shut tight and worry for ages until some one replies. There is usually a or a or a LOL comment so i think that im ok.
I worry about this in RL as well though, dont we all?

dropinthe · 20/05/2005 11:24

Why do you worry about them?

Mud · 20/05/2005 11:25

Mud, I must take issue with you over the rabbit, everyone knows a hamster would be far more satisfying

Donbean · 20/05/2005 11:33

Cam · 20/05/2005 11:35

As if I have the IT skills to post a link, and anyway I thought this was a serious discussion about pets

www.buyarabbit.co.uk/competition.asp - for those who can't afford one because they are SAHMs

PuffTheMagicDragon · 20/05/2005 13:06

I'm currently a sahm mum Mud (before anyone starts to grill me about what the hell I do with my day - my two are still pre-school).

I know you were joking and it made me laugh - cheers .

DaddyCool · 20/05/2005 13:10

i don't take offence at morningpapers threads. i think she's just got a much different view from mine and she's curious as to what people's opinions are on the subject. she hasn't got nasty or anything and she's obviously quite intelligent because she managed to suss out quite early that i'm a lazy b**tard

lambpie · 18/09/2007 15:42

morning paper, ive not seen any SAHM threads recently, perhaps ive been walking around MNET with my eyes closed.

I am a SAHM, i LOVE it, it is a big financial strain and i miss my career. But nothing could replace this time with DD, she is my little star and its just wonderful to spend time with her, i consider myself privaliged to be able to do this. I think it is really pertinent to be discussing this as i think it is a tough job and can sometimes feel unfulfilling due to the pressures of society but it is what i FEEL is right for my families. I am always interested in how other mothers make it work for their family too as i think it is far from the easy option IMHO.

As for rabbits, ive had several but gave up on them as the dog has now eaten three!

and just exactly how did a thread from 2005 make it into today's active conversations?
