I have just heard on the radio that Amanda Holden actually has it in her will that she would like Abba's dancing queen played at her funeral and wants everyone to dance to it.Got me thinking just for fun what song would mumsnetters have played at theirs which best discribes their personality.

Only picked hymns for mine - but very happy clappy ones. A vicar I know has had some very strange ones, - coffins carried down the aisle to 'He aint heavy he's my brother', and coffins being cremated to 'Return to Sender' and 'Come on baby light my fire'!

I want 'Smoke Gets in Your Eyes' - of course I want to be cremated

megg · 07/05/2003 20:32

Oh no I've got something in common with Amanda Holden I can't stand her. If I can't have Abba I'll have Elvis Costello 'She'.

A friend of mine wants Elvis' 'Burning Love' at his funeral.

Naughtynoonoo · 07/05/2003 21:13

me and my best mate are both going to have "ding dong the witch is dead" from the wizard of oz! I also like Time to Say Goodbye by Sarah Brightman

Mum2Toby · 07/05/2003 21:31

Steps version of Tragedy! And everyone must learn the dance before it!

I love cheesy music, ALL my friends hate it! It would be my last stand.

One of my friends dreamt that she went to my funeral and they played "You Abandon Me". This was 12 years ago. I din't know quite how to take it.

Naughtynoonoo · 07/05/2003 21:51

I have just been doing a lot of gardening and it has got me thinking, because I dug up a lot of bones and burnt a load of leaves etc. which way would you like to go / end up? Sorry to nick the thread - but it is linked in a way! I think I'd like to be buried as I would be scared of waking up burnt alive!

I think you'd be dead by the time the maggots came along. Unless you were a keen fisherwoman and were buried with your maggots.

Naughtynoonoo · 07/05/2003 22:23

I have thought about been frozen, but then again scared that I would get too cold. We have been digging up our garden path, I hope nobody thinks we are burying anytrhing under there, btw I have been good with the bones I have dug up, I have buried them again, but didn't have a ceremony!

whymummy · 07/05/2003 22:27

oooooh no,not frozen,it`s terrible for your skin

sambo good point but you`ll never see me anywhere near maggots

The memorial service I went to last week played the rap version of "Every Breath You Take". Very poignant and appropriate to celebrate the lives of a 16 and 19 year old.
