Mumsnet meet-ups - are people as they seem?

Exactly that really, if you've met up with anyone, have any of them been as you've expected?

everyone is always different to how you imagine

No ones ever as I expect them (not in a bad way) I think you just create a picture of someone in your mind from how they post and what they say about themselves.

All lovely people I've met though

I've met one mum, Franch, and she's lovely. In fact I've met her twice now and am planning on meeting up with her again. My friend was worried she'd be an axe murderer, but unfortunately for my friend I came home unscathed lol

no I haven't met anyone. but am moving to new area so thought I might try to. but then I think I like this cyber world and no one knowing me. It means I don't have to take 'real friends' into consideration when 'speaking' it is quite refreshing.

Now I don['t know much about everyone on here, so my thoughts really are guesses. but I imagine Fio to be quite tough looking, and fiery tempered

I'd say they've all been much nicer/warmer/more welcoming (even!) than I'd expected.

One think I didn't expect, which is nice to know in advance, is that people are usually quite a bit shyer in person. So don't worry if you feel shy!

Actually she is lovely and looks like a normal woman just goes to show you can't judge a book by its cover eh?

I've met Dinny She's lovely Actually, I knew her as * before I knew her as Dinny though - she told me about MN

I have seen another Mner on webcam and spoken on the phone and she is lovely. I won't say who she is in case she thinks I'm a minger or really horrible or something!

I have been to a few meets now and met quite a few MNetters. I am really rubbish at imagining what people are going to be like. But, so far, everyone has been lovely

LOL Marslady, re Axe Murderer. I've met Ellbell.. we have been friends years now and got together lots of times.. met on another site when pg together.. (so not an MN meet up) but my sister was very worried about me meeting her the first time insisting she was bound to be an axe murderer!!! Sis has now met her as well.. and was very re the AM comment!

penny drops, why the name change?

I've met two and they are both lovely, spoken to one on the phone, text another one EVERY day and when i do ring her she is always on line (YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE and i speak to another 3 nearly every day.

The ones that i've mentioned are all lovely and different in their own ways.

I lost the baby a few weeks ago and the names we had were Madeline & Dennis.

met quite a few people from online...some r fab some r not what they seemed not necessarily bad..but thats life.
Chat to a few people regulalry on msn and they seem to be lovely.
