what happens when social services become involved?

With children, because they have concerns? Not because of diability or special needs?

Can anyone talk me through it, step by step? What is to be expected?

if they're concerned about childrens behaviour and they finf then there was DV in the past, ss come out to see if thers anything they can do to help, they are very kind make some notes and say they'll get back to you after they ahve talked to a childrens centre to make sure you are going to get a spport worker from there

Can't possibly answer that without knowing why they are being involved.

my last post said why

some people from a family centre have assumed there was DV in the past, this was not true but there was an unhappy relationship a couple of years before. The same people had concerns that child was fiddling with buttons and clothes and mentioned her baby brother had a penis

I am not understanding this at all.

she fiddles with clothes, hair, etc, when she is tired or upset, were concernd she knows its called a penis, she asked when seeing her bbay brother having a nppy changes what it was and was quite curios as had never seena penis before, she is 3 1/2

they said they were a bit anxious about single parent having 3 such young children, thats all they said abot their concerns but referral was because of things mentioned.

asked for jelp from family centre, got some help, finding life easier, although parent frustrated as child showing some signs of autism but professionals didnt taken these concerns seriously, ventally the person who referred said this may be a way of seeing if there are special needs after all but i didn't get the impression that SN were reason for referral

Maybe they are just trying to monitor you and give you some help as you are a single Mum with 3 v young children. Could it be to give you some respite and extra support?

Are any of your children in daycare/ nursery?

its not for me, someone else which is why i am reluctant to say much, but yes one in school, 1 in nursery

HV was aasked about HV but said she couldnt do anything and it would be picked up by teacher now she had started school if there was anything

Are they worried the mother isn't coping?

Are they trying to figure out the best way to support the family?

Are they helping with referrals to diagnose autism or trying to figure out if the behaviour is because of something else?

Sorry, but it's difficult to say with so little/confusing information...

Can the mother ask to meet with SS to discuss her/their concerns?

thats hwat they said that they would come out to see how best they could help, DV was mentioned a lot

Is there any chance at all that she's with someone new and DV has occurred? Remember she might be too embarrassed to tell you.

Or are/were the children emotionally affected by her ex-partner?

Any chance she could be involved with previous partner again?

there were some emotion abuse 2 years ago, they are split but he sees the children, for a period he wasn't seeing them and children upset, now see them regularly and children love seeing him
