Apart from pat self on back?

I am thinking of retraining but no idea about jobs. Those are the things I'm considering studying - what REAL ACTUAL JOBS might I get with a postgrad MA/PHD in them?

I mean ones that pay money. Any money. But must be money.

Thanks dearies.

No, I'm here applauding you. I want to see the first MN film. May it win awards ...

I'll help with the film. I can make coffee and I'll blog about it all at great length.

Swedes · 17/04/2009 20:14

PW - I don't think we can have a catering trailer, it might spoil the covert nature of our work.

policywonk · 17/04/2009 20:23

Oh I won't trail, I'll walk purposefully. Badoom tish

Sorry, I've been ignoring you on two different media platforms today

I'm a copy editor - I get given an author's manuscript and rip it to shreds, then put it back together again and hope s/he doesn't notice that I've completely rewritten it and added some obscenities in the paragraphs that no one will read. Thready is one of these same things also.

Copy editor's joke: how many copy editors does it take to change a lightbulb? Ten: one to change the lightbulb and nine to hold down the author.

Swedes · 17/04/2009 20:35

Lenin - You'll be sorry you knocked us when you are at the Empire Leicester Square begging the touts to give you a ticket for £350 to the premier of our film.

Bumperlicioso · 17/04/2009 21:07

Civil servant

ruty · 17/04/2009 21:17

Hobnobs? Blimey, bit posh.

policywonk · 17/04/2009 21:32

It is only the very tiniest little bit of money, ruty, if that makes you feel better.

Lenin - Why don't you start a website for pregnant lesbians?

Swedes · 17/04/2009 22:08

L - do you mind if I ask how lesbians decide which one is going to be the biological mother?

Lenin - And your partner doesn't want to experience it herself?

Habbibu · 17/04/2009 22:14

OBM - know you've gorn off the Think Tank idea but have just discovered there's a MNer who is chief exec of a think tank. (is on her profile - I didn't google or nuffin). Am slightly fascinated by this, as I don't really understand what TTs do.

Lenin - LOL at desperate Housewives. Scrap the biological mother question. Can you please ask her which Desperate H she most identifies with?
