Dh and i have been invited to a fancy dress party with a MARITIME theme. What do I wear??? Not mermaid, I am feeling too fat. But something kinda sexy-ish without showing too much (maybe cleveage) Some ideas on the invite are Nelson, Jaws, Nemo, Ellen McArthur (don't want to wear yellow!!)

PLEASE MUMSNETTERS DO YOUR STUFF

Well, there seems to be a lot of nautical fashion around at the moment like white wide legged trousers and blue+white striped tops.

jampots · 13/04/2005 22:30

did anyone else read the theme as "Marmite" ?

cupcakes · 13/04/2005 22:32

For example, here but hopefully not so pricey.
Maybe with a jaunty little hat?

mummytosteven · 13/04/2005 22:32

marmite would be a bit restrictive a theme - you could only go as a jar or a twiglett

CountessDracula · 13/04/2005 22:33

your dh could go as Robert Maxwell (mine did to an under the sea party LOL!)

PuffTheMagicDragon · 13/04/2005 22:33

Pirate with a little top knotted below the bust?

cupcakes · 13/04/2005 22:39

Richard Gere and Deborah Winger (he gets to do the white uniform you can do the skinny jeans)

cupcakes · 13/04/2005 22:47

You could go as Sailor Sue

cupcakes · 13/04/2005 22:48

And your dh could go in this jolly costume

crunchie · 14/04/2005 11:08
