Fancy dress for Grown ups - MARITIME theme?????

Dh and i have been invited to a fancy dress party with a MARITIME theme. What do I wear??? Not mermaid, I am feeling too fat. But something kinda sexy-ish without showing too much (maybe cleveage) Some ideas on the invite are Nelson, Jaws, Nemo, Ellen McArthur (don't want to wear yellow!!)

Well, there seems to be a lot of nautical fashion around at the moment like white wide legged trousers and blue+white striped tops.

did anyone else read the theme as "Marmite" ?

For example, here but hopefully not so pricey.
Maybe with a jaunty little hat?

marmite would be a bit restrictive a theme - you could only go as a jar or a twiglett

your dh could go as Robert Maxwell (mine did to an under the sea party LOL!)

Go as Popeye and Olive Oil

Fishermans jumper?

pirate and maiden (in windswept manner of Keira Knightley)

Pirate with a little top knotted below the bust?
